A/N: SORRY GUYS! I'm so busy and I forget stuff easily. I'm so sorry for my mistake. I meant to have Isa texting her dad, instead of her mom, since her mom died when she was little. That’s all I changed this chapter. Thank you sooo much to those who caught this, so I can change it!!!!!
Chapter 2
I wondered how it was so coincidental that I live in one of the most rainiest places in the United States. I mean sure, I loved the rain. Loved. Now, without really understanding why, I hate it. I get this bad feeling in the pit of my stomach, swirling feelings of hatred, sadness, regret and loneliness. I feel empty. I feel disconnected.
I traced my fingers across the old photograph, my mom was smiling with her arm around me, our identical auburn colored hair blowing in the cool breeze, as we were laughing as we warmed our hands with the campfire. I smiled to myself.
"Honey, you ready for school yet? Your ride is here," my dad called.
"One second!" I yelled back. I quickly put the photo in to a shoebox with other similar pictures and slid it under the bed. I gave myself one last look in the mirror. I straightened my hair today, while I was wearing mascara, light eyeliner and eyeshadow. With a light layer of foundation on, just to conceal my under eye circles from lack of sleep. My petite body was dressed in black skinny jeans and a cut up band tee that hung off my shoulder. I never really preferred one style, I switched it up a lot. From boho-chic to rocker chic, I just dressed how I felt.
I opened my door and looked down to see my dad waiting for me.
"Hurry up, slow poke, you ride is here. Annie couldn't do it today, she is sick from school today," he stated, Annie is our neighbor and my friend, but we aren't super close. I was just about to ask how I'm getting to school, since my dad was in a wheel chair. He couldn't drive, he was paralyzed waist down from the accident. "So I asked Luke to do it," he continued. Wait?! What?! Did I hear that right?
"Luke? Why Luke," I asked. Oh My Jesus this was going to very awkward.
"Actually he offered, it's weird that he offered on the day that Annie is sick. Oh well, it all worked out." He said, and patted me on the back before rolling away. Great! I told myself. Just what I need, and you'd think he'd be the one sick after where I kicked him the other day.
I saw his black BMW in the driveway. He sat behind the wheel tapping it to whatever song he was listening to. The rain had finally passed, but it was still cloudy outside. I quickly bunch all my stuff together and I saw that I had my English papers on the desk and quickly grabbed them along with a piece of toast. I didn't shove them in hard enough because the minute I stepped outside a gust of wind came, and knocked them out of my hand to the wet ground.
"Shit!" I exclaimed. I bent down to pick up the soggy blurry papers as I saw another pair of hands helping me to pick them up.
"You're really clumsy, Bellbell. Don't worry I'll always catch you when you fall," he said with a wink. I rolled my eyes. But when I looked at him again my eyes locked on to his, something was different about them. They weren't the usual bright hazel green eyes I've always known. Instead it was kind of darker, cloudy almost. Like the current state of the sky right now. "I'll make you a deal, I'll let you stare in to my eyes like that if you go to Winter Ball with me," he smirked. I would have said yes, if he hadn't said that like it was a demand and not a question. Also the way he's been treating me lately, I don't like it, it's like he's not himself. Or maybe he is himself, this is just a side that's new to me.
