Chapter 11
...my father. He has on his normal work clothes, slakes, button up shirt, loafers, lab coat, and stethoscope.
You guessed it, my dad's a doctor. He isn't always home because he's the best in the state. Everybody wants Dr. Thomas Tate and he complies. People say he has the healing touch, and with everything that's been going on I'm starting to believe that that statement is very literal.
"Daddy," I said with a released sigh.
I jumped up and tackled him with a hug. He wrapped his arms tightly around me and sighed too. The last time I saw my dad was almost 2 weeks ago.
"Hello sweetheart. Are you okay," he asked sounding worried.
I shook my head and let him go, "I'm fine it's Leo."
He squatted down and assessed Leo's damage, "He's actually the one who called to me since you don't know what I'm talking about or how to do it."
I looked at my dad with bleary eyes, "Huh? Is he going to be alright?"
He didn't look up but he did shake his head yes. He placed his hands, one on Leo's head, and one on his heart and closed his eyes. Chanting something, his and Leo's eyes glowed under their eye lids. After about five minutes of chanting, glowing, and worrying, Leo gasped and bolted upright, opening his eyes.
The glow faded and they both sighed. Dad removed his hands and said, "Welcome back."
Leo looked straight at my necklace and I saw his muscles release, and his whole body relax. He hugged dad and said, "Thanks."
Leo looked better than better. The glow, though faint, was back in his eyesand skin; you could just see how much better he felt. This made me relax.
"Sweetheart, let's go down stairs, I revived your friends before I got up here. They want to see you," Dad said.
I kissed Leo on his cheek and went down stairs. I got there and was tackled by a now awake Eve. We squeezed the life out of each other crying. The only noise in the room was us sobbing, "I miss you so much," and "Oh my gosh I thought you were dead," and "I knew you were worried and I tried to reach you but..."
After we stopped I had a slight head ache and a not so heavy anymore heart.
"Okay, now that everybody who matters is okay. What the hell is going on," I asked way to calm for myself to believe. Everyone adverted their eyes and avoided my question. I looked at Jason, who walked in during my crying fest with Eve. He sighed and stood up.
"Okay I guess I'll start it off. You know how they have those bright things in the sky that only come out at night," he asked as if I was two.
I glared at him and he got the message so he continued, "Well they're stars. Scientist says they got there by these little explosions that happen because-"
"Jason! I didn't ask you for a science lesson. What does stars have to do with anything that's been-" but I stopped myself and looked at Paul.
That center, he said people call him Sagittarius. Holy Crap! Zodiac signs are actual beings? Paul shook his head yes as if answering my question.
I pointed to Jason, "So that means your Taurus."
He simply shook his head, "Told you all she was smart. Yes. But not everyone is according to what sign they were born under. Like you. We were chosen by our patrons to host them. Taurus, just liked me better than the other millions of people he patrons."
I just stood there taking it all in.
"Like me," said Dom, "I was chosen by Leo to be one of his, as you've heard us being called, pets, The Griffin."
