Chapter 8

*sigh* Wensday. Something about Wensday is just so... relaxying.

After all the boreing and repetitive morning stuff, I went downstairs to the kitchen. Bofore walking out I grabbed an orange and bottle of water. I also walked out the back door of our kitchen to the back hallway to my parents' room. I can hear the shower going so I know Mom is up, but I also hear singing. Wow, somebody's feeling good this morning.

Satisfied I walked to the front door and exited the house. It almost felt like I was being pulled out of a fog and all that relaxing energy I felt just dissapeared.

In the middle of peeling my orange and waiting for my walking buddies, Leo walked out of the house looking tired and utterly hopeless. His hair looks darker, his eyes has black whole dark circles under them, and his face is grim set.

"Morning. I would say rise and shine but it doesn't seem approriet... Are you okay," I asked. He's so out of character that I think if he doesn't say he's fine and give me an excuse I'll burst into tears.

He shook his head and looked out at the street, "Nothing, I'm fine I just worry."

"Wich doesn't sound like you at all. So I'm gonna ask one more time, what is wrong?"

He shook his head again and adverted his eyes. I waited and the silence streched for so long I didn't think he would answer until he said, "Just, do me, and everyone else that loves you, a favor and never be anywhere alone. Wich reminds me," then he sighed almost hesitating to pull something from his pocket.

He handed me a little box and my eyes widened as I lifted the lid. Inside the box there was a necklace, with a pendant in the shape of a galaxy. The pendant had 12 little stone placed at different points on the galaxy. But my favorite part is the stone in the middle. It's a color I'm almost completely sure nobody had ever seen before or at least me. It's deep and rich and light dispite it's deepness.

"I got it because that stone in the middle, it reminds me of the color your eyes, they and it changes when you feel strongly about something," he said deep in thought. "And because I owe you alot that I just can't afford to give you right now."

I could see hat tired feeling got worst and my heart almost broke at seeing my fearless, strong, reliable brother so...just vulrenable. "Look don't worry, I promise. And I love the neckilace. So it's like a mood neckalce? Cool."

I kissed him on the cheek, reached behind my neck and fastined the clasp.

Just then I looked down the street to see 2 people running my way. Andrew got here first followed by Jason, both looking ruffled. Wow, they are such little kids.

"Race," I asked.

They both nodded their heads gasping for breath. I smiled slowly, "Who won?"

Jason nodded his head toward Drew and huffed for a few more seconds before saying, "I'm pretty sure he left skid marks on the sidewalk."

"Cuz, I'm pretty sure, that if you stand up straight, and put your arms over your head like Drew, then you'll cool down much faster," I said giggling.

Jason took my advice as Andrew took his last gasping breath and his puse seemed to settle into a slow rythmic beat. Almost matching mine. I know I'm a stalker and pay way too much attention to little things. God I miss Eve she would have kept me from talking to myself like this.

"Yea, she's right. That's actually the first thing they teach you at track. You should always make sure your blood can easily flow through your veins so that your heart doesn't have to work so hard," Andrew said giving me a wink. Or maybe he was just blinking? I'll go with the first one, it's a nice confidense booster.
