The next day me and Two-bit was walking home from the movie house then a mustang came up and five Socs came out. "Stay close Ponyboy." Two-bit whispered "I'll try." I responded I wished Darry and Sodapop was here then I would not be as worried as I was then. "Well look what we got here fellas some Greasers." One Socs said
"Y'all better watch it." Two-bit said as he smashed the end off of a Coke a cola bottle then handing it to me. "We remember you little fella your buddy killed Bob." One Socs fired at me
"Yeah so what." I fired back "So you finally going to pay."the Socs said back.I remembered those Socs I didn't realize it at first but once I heard them talking I remembered they were the ones I. almost split open that day after the hearing when I was with Two-bit and Steve.
I looked at Two-bit like I remembered who the were he slightly nodded to me. Then before I knew it Darry, Sodapop, and Steve came and helped us beat those Socs. When we got back Darry gets a phone call. "Who was it?" I asked even though the rest of us was thinking that. "I don't know who that was but he did say for us to find out who it is to come to the vacant lot all of us at night." Darry explained
That night
We all met up at our house. "Y'all ready to find out who this mystery person is? Two-bit asked while Steve "Yeah we are." Me, Darry, and Soda said
When we got to the vacant lot it felt like the rumble before Johnny died. "Are you the person that contacted me?" Asked Darry the person. Darry told me and Soda if this was a trap by the Socs to be ready. "Yes I am Darry." He said. "How you know my name?" Darry asked in a concerning tone
"Because I am..." He paused the whole area was filled with tension "I...am...Dally!" He finally said "DALLY!?" Everyone shouted
