Andromeda had not held a gun since her father had taught her how to use one on the Ark. The cold metal felt familiar in her hands and her fingers were itching to try it out."This changes everything," Bellamy called out as he draped a makeshift cloth target over the doorway.
Andromeda took her eyes off the gun in her hands to smile at him from across the room.
"No more running from spears. Ready to be a badass, sweetheart?" Bellamy asked as he walked over snacking on some rations.
Andromeda smiled at him, "My dear, Mr. Blake, I've always been a badass."
"If not for me you would have been dead the second day we were here," he smiled back.
"If I remember right it was you who would've gotten their face torn off. Not me."
Bellamy rolled his eyes, "Alright. You need to learn how to shoot a gun. I can't have you unable to defend yourself."
Andromeda almost started laughing. Her? Not know how to use a gun? Did he forget whose daughter she was? She was about to retort when she had a better idea. She wanted to see how he would react so she decided to play along.
She waved the gun around carelessly, "Oh, and you're going to teach me are you?"
He put down the nuts and walked up behind her, "Damn right I am."
Andromeda fakingly mishandled the gun and pretended to be ignorant about its use.
"So I, uh, just do this?" she asked him.
She felt Bellamy hesitate before getting closer to her.
"Yea, just a little higher," he instructed gently.
Bellamy was so close to her that Andromeda could feel every inch of him. His left hand engulfed hers and his right stopped on her shoulder. Her back was pressed to his front and they could feel the heat pass between them. Part of her wanted nothing more than to stay in this position forever. She leaned back a little into him and she heard his breath hitch for a second.
The next moment, Bellamy recoiled from her as if he had been electrocuted and he stepped back shaking his head. Andromeda's face fell and she tried to cover it up. Bellamy grabbed a gun.
"Yea...uh....watch and learn," he said shakily.
Andromeda looked at him and studied him with a small smile partly because she wanted to learn how he could shoot and partly because she noticed that his pants had gotten considerably tighter.
Bellamy stood in a firm-shooting stance with his back to her, he lined up his shot and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. There was click to the gun and no bullet came out. Andromeda started to snicker and Bellamy gave her an ugly look, which only caused her to openly laugh.
He tried shooting again and nothing happened once more. Andromeda howled with laughter and Bellamy playfully shoved her in the shoulder.
"Really impressive, Blake. No, really! Couldn't have done better myself," she laughed.
"My bullets are duds, try yours," he said laughing himself.
Andromeda stepped forward and went into a proper shooting stance. She slowed her breathing and lined up the sights with the black x marked on one of blankets.
BANG!
The bullet hit an inch or so to the right of the x. Andromeda lowered her gun and reloaded. Her second shot was identical to her first but just to the left of the x. She lowered her gun and looked at Bellamy who stood there with a shocked look on his face. She gave him what she hoped was an innocent look.
