My idea of what a party was like was accurate.
Red cups and blaring music and girls and boys and a swimming pool.
We were a teenage movie from the nineties only with Ipads and docking stations and Snapchat. How may Snapchat stories I must have been in just by turning up to 224 Donnington Avenue, in which I had no idea who lived here.
Alcohol passed between my lips from the moment of crossing the threshold and I almost immediately lost Sarah's hand, my fingers loosened from hers as we were split apart. I was taken in the crowd like a wave, feeling a burning sensation down my throat, spreading through my stomach like fire inside of me. I smiled, as I talked and sang and danced with people I didn't know but I learned to know.
"We never see you here!"
"I'm glad you came!"
"Damn, Kane! Since when did you have those moves?"
I couldn't remember if I was myself or someone else, if I was ever someone else. I didn't feel like Daisy Kane until I found myself sat on a crimson couch, the pillows swallowing me whole as my world began to tilt.
"Woah, steady on." I saw the thick black rims of his glasses first, and then the cocky smile of Liam Litnicky, as he laced our fingers together and pulled me up and out of the mouth of the couch. He sat next to me, his drink resting on the coffee table, mine spilled on the floor. "You think you've had enough?"
"Yeah, probably." I nodded, regretting that decision. I pressed my forehead, rubbing it with the pads of my fingers. "It seemed like a good idea a few minutes a go."
"It always does." He stood, still holding my hands, pulling me. "You wanna come upstairs? It's quieter."
I look up at him, his blonde hair sticking up in places it hadn't before. I don't exactly restrain from standing, but I just stare, the light hanging from the ceiling making it look like a halo wrapped around his head. I nodded.
Short but sweet ^_^ If you liked it, don't forget to vote and leave a comment!
