I bought you tea,not sure what kind exactly.
I know it had cinnamon in it but that's all I know.
I worried all day long at work, worried that you wouldn't like it.
You didn't like coffee so I guessed tea.
It was a guessing game and I was nervous to guess wrong.
I'm not sure why exactly but I felt like I had to get this right, like getting it right was a victory.
No matter how small or silly it sounded,it was a victory to me.
I bit my nails constantly at work,a habit I only did when I was really really nervous.
My boss noticed but didn't say anything, just kept staring at me oddly.
I was anxious to get home, anxious to see if you liked it.
Outside the building I stood, your head leaned down as you fiddled with your hoodie sleeves.
I noticed the cup next to you, couldn't tell if it was empty or not and I didn't dare touch it in case it spooked you.
I was about to ask if you liked it but before I could your right hand moved, tapping the cup once you barely nodded.
You nodded, and I felt like my face would split in half.
