Brianna and I walked inside, the music was loud, but it sounded fun. James still hadn't texted me back; maybe he was getting ready, or something? He promised me that he would make it to the dance.

As we walked inside people turned to look at me. I heard most girls saying, 'Who's that? Does she even go here?' I just giggled to myself and admired the room.

It was so beautiful. There were hearts on the walls, red and white lights hanging down from the ceiling, each table had either a white, pink, or red table cloth and a vase of flowers.

My mind was still on James. The dance was just about to start and still no text. Was he at the other girls house? Was he having feelings for her? I just needed to know.

"Alright, alright, alright!" I heard our beloved Jammie Cooper. He was the funniest black guy in school. I loved hanging out with him, he always knew how to make you smile, and laugh. "So, I was asked by Mrs. Weaver to host and DJ our little party tonight. We're gonna go ahead and start this dance. We have a vote box, right heeeerreeee..." He searched for it, "Well, somewhere in here." He shrugged his shoulders and smiled, "Anyway, we would like you to vote for cutest couple tonight, and whoever wins will be King and Queen of love. Alright? Good! Let's get started!" He ran off stage and music started playing. It was a fast song, I guess to loosen up everyone's nerves.

It looked like fun but James was the only thing on my mind. Brianna asked if I wanted to get up and boogie, I told her not at the moment. What if something was seriously wrong and I wasn't there to help him.

After the fast song was over Jammie played a slow song. I watched as all of the people filled the dance floor with a partner and they slow danced.

"Kayla?" I turned to see Marco with his hand out, "I'm sorry for being such a jerk lately... would you like to dance?"

Maybe he was completely sincere about it, and James wasn't here yet so I accepted his hand and we walked out to the dance floor.

We didn't say a word for the first couple of seconds, then Marco decided to break the silence, "Can we just put our past behind us Kayla?"

"You mean put back all the times you called me Metal mouth, hit my books, made fun of me that I wasn't what's the word, oh yeah, sleazy enough. Put back all those times?"

He nervously smiled, "Look Kayla, I am sorry. Truly sorry. I was young, and stupid, and didn't have respect for anyone but myself."

"That was just a couple weeks ago." I rolled ny eyes.

He laughed, "Exactly! I didn't realize how I was until I actually talked to you. You're not like most girls here, you're classy, you're confident in yourself, you're happy being in your own skin. These other girls pile on makeup, make fun of you for doing it-"

"I know what they do Marco. Thank you for that." I cut him off.

"Sorry, I'm still trying to get better at this. I just want you to know how special you are."

I smiled, "Oh, trust me... I know how special I am, and how James is lucky to have me as his girlfriend." Marco rolled his eyes at James name, "You just wish that you could have all this." I motioned to myself, "But I guess you'll never have it just for the simple fact that you're a douche, who doesn't respect women." The song finished as soon as I finished talking. I dropped his hand and walked back to my seat.

He didn't look happy, but I no longer cared. I was gonna tell James how I felt about him. Marco probably wanted me as much as possible, but I wasn't gonna give myself to that man whore.

I wasn't gonna wait around all day, something was up with James and this wasn't like him. Brianna knew where he lived so I asked her for a ride; she wasn't happy that we were leaving the house but she was down for helping James.

After Brianna got out of my car I drove home. Lesley was freaking crazy; she knew that this was my job, no feelings were supposed to come along, and I had spent the whole day with her, I had to get to Kayla.

I made it home, I unlocked the door. Mom wasn't home. My suit was hanging up in my room, behind my closet. I still had awhile before I had to get ready, so I grabbed a bottle of water and sat down on the couch. I could feel myself growing tired so I set an alarm.

My eyes slowly started to get heavier and heavier, before I knew it they were closed. I went into this dream where I was in a car accident and Kayla couldn't get to me, so she chose Marco.

I woke up in fear. As I awoke, I noticed that I wasn't in the living room on the couch. I was tied up in my bedroom. My hands and feet were tied in rope. "Good afternoon honey." I turned my head to see Lesley standing there.

"What do you want from me?" I asked.

She just smiled and walked closer to me, "I want you James. I want to be your actual girlfriend. Never in my life have I met someone with such charisma, and really good at acting... except me of course."

"You're crazy Lesley! I'll call the cops on you for breaking and entering, and of course tying me up." I said as I wiggled my wrists trying to escape this awful knot.

She got closer to me and sat on my lap, "You know, we would have beautiful babies." She turned to face me, she kissed my lips. Ew, I just wanted her gone.

I looked over at my phone, it was sitting on the nightstand next to where I was tied. If I could just reach it and text Kayla to let her know everything would be fine.

She saw that I wanted my phone, "Oh, you gonna call the cops on me James? I don't think so." She got off of me and snatched my phone, "Lets see who you've been texting." She unlocked my phone and started to look through my messages, "Brianna, Garret, Clayton, Kayla."

My heart sank as she said Kaylas name, but she just continued to read the names off. She didn't know that Kayla was my other client, and that I kind of liked her.

I turned my attention until my phone dinged, letting us know that someone texted me. Lesley looked up at me and smiled, "Incoming message, let's see..." Please don't be Kayla! "Kayla." She smiled, and read the message, "Hi James, Bri and I are leaving to head over to the dance, I guess that we'll meet you there." Her smile was gone, "Is This your other client? Do you like her?"

My mouth was determined to stay quiet, but if I didn't say something it could possibly put Kayla in trouble. "Yes, she's my other client, but no, I don't like her. She's annoying, all she does is blab on about what she's doing." I lied. Kayla was nothing like that, she was selfless, and caring, and I wanted nothing more than to hang out with her all the time.

Lesley rolled her eyes, "Ugh, she sounds hideous."

"I know. If it was up to me, I would definitely choose you over her." I had to keep lying, and it was obviously working.

She smirked and walked closer to me, "Well, let's fix that." Her hands ran up and down my thighs, up my torso, making me feel completely uncomfortable.

"Aren't you gonna untie me?" I smirked.

Her laugh was so obnoxious, "No, I think we should do it like this. Hands tied, and dirty."

Oh my God. Could she be any more slutty? I sighed, "I guess I can't feel that gorgeous body of yours then? Oh well."

Just as she was about to untie me my phone dinged again. Damn it! Lesley looked at my phone, "Its Kayla again. Okay, here's what it says, Hey James we made it here, can't wait to see you, it's gonna be a blast! Kk ttyl!" I was never gonna leave here.
