*°*Kayla's Pov*°*

I cradled James in my arms, there was blood everywhere. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I watched the ambulance pull up to Brianna's car, she brought them over to us.

"Help him!" I cried as the paramedics ushered over with a stretcher.

The lady tried to calm me down while the man helped James. "I'm Tiffany, and this is Corbyn. We're gonna take care of you two, okay?"

I nodded my head and agreed with her. They lifted James from my body and set him on the stretcher, hooked him up to an oxygen machine, and set him in the ambulance. I got to ride with them to the hospital.

Tiffany asked me a bunch of questions about James and myself, I answered all of them the best I could. "Did you see who stabbed him?"

"Yes, her name is Lesley, and my friend Brianna has her address." I replied.

After a series of more questions, we finally made it to the hospital. They rushed us inside. I couldn't bare to look at James like that.

The hours passed, and James was still asleep. I texted my dad that I was in the hospital with James. Brianna soon showed up, she greeted me with a hug and asked about James, I told her that he's been sleeping since we got here.

"Is there anything I get you?" Brianna asked.

I shook my head, "Get him to wake up?" I giggled.

"Have you told him how you feel yet?"

My head turned to look over at his sweet face sleeping, I walked over to him and pushed the hair out of his face, "No, I was but things got crazy. I was hoping to tell him at the dance, but then this happened and I knew that ny feelings for him could wait."

"Don't wait too long honey." Brianna said as she kissed my head and gave me a hug, "I gotta get home, but I'll see you later. Text me if you need anything." Brianna walked out the room and left.

I turned to look back at James. "If only you were awake." I sighed, "I would tell you that from the moment I met you, I was in love. Even though you were sort of an ass, I just loved you. I would tell you how much I love it when you just look at me and smile. I love it when you dust your hair out of your face so I can see your amazing, entrancing green eyes. I just love you, and I feel like I can't live without you." I laughed at myself, "Sorry, I just said love wayyy too many times." I knew he was tired, and he couldn't even hear me, so I sat back down on the couch and fell asleep.

···Later···

I woke up to my dad and James talking about God knows what. I texted Brianna that James was doing better. My stomach growled, I couldn't remember the last time I ate. So I decided to roam the halls of the hospital until I found the cafeteria.

The smell of food was in the air, making me even more hungry. Eggs, fried potatoes, bacon and sausage were on the menu.

I grabbed a plate and only put on some fried potatoes, bacon and sausage. I wasn't really an egg person.

As I sat down I noticed an old couple. The old man sat next to this old woman who had a breathing tube. She looked ill; as if she was soon to die. He had his arm wrapped around her, trying to comfort her while they ate breakfast together.

It made me smile, even though they were that old, they still were in love. Old couples always made me smile. The time that I would smile most would be if James and I would be that old, and together.

The thought of James made me hurry up with my food and try to get back to him in the room. My dad sat on the couch playing on his phone while James was asleep.

My dad gave me a hug, "Hey, I didn't see you get up this morning."

I shrugged, "Yeah, I didn't feel like talking to anyone this morning."

"Kayla?" He smiled and sat down on the couch, he patted the cushion with his hand letting me know to sit, as I sat down he said, "Are you okay with all this? Like with what happened to James? Because it's completely normal if you aren't do towards trauma."

"Yeah daddy, I'm fine. I've dealt with something like this before with momma, I'll manage." I gave him a reassuring smile and grabbed my heels off of the chair, "I'm gonna go back home to get changed out of these clothes. Would you mind sitting here with him till I get back?"

He smiled, "No, not at all. You go ahead and go home and get cleaned up." I gave him a hug and walked home.

With my heels in my hand, my dress covered in blood, my makeup smeared from crying all night, my hair messed up from sleeping in that awful chair, I looked like I just came out of a horror movie called 'Carrie'. And I was the main character.

I approached my house. Kody and Kyle weren't home, they went to spend the night at their friends house. When I took my shower the water felt so good as I rubbed off the blood. James blood. I started to cry, the memories from last night were still engraved in my brain. No way to erase them.

My favorite blue towel was hanging up, I wrapped it around my body and walked into my room. As I walked into my room I saw someone sitting there, I screamed and then I saw his face, and made sure that my towel was covering my body.

His laugh made me nervous, "You really need to learn how to lock the back door."

"You really need to learn that this is breaking and entering." I added.

He giggled, "I'm sorry, I just had to see you again. You kind of bailed last night."

"Well Marco, I was rushed to the hospital last night because James was stabbed by his crazy ex girlfriend."

He stood up and tried to get close to me, "Oh I'm so sorry!"

"Don't come any closer Marco." I demand.
He did as I wished and sat back down on my bed. There was an awkward silence, I didn't mind; I could care less what he had to say. "Well, I'm gonna go put on some clothes, when I come back, I expect you to be gone." I grabbed some clothes out my dresser and went back into the bathroom to change. I locked the door.
