The neightbours house always had a weird smell to it as you walked past it. I noticed it a few months back but after leaving my house every single day the smell slowly went as time went on. I, and by the expressions of people who walk past the house, think that the neighbours are doing and selling drugs.

I stared at the red light a little longer to make sure I wasn't just seeing things but I know full well I was being recorded when there was a sudden down pour of rain and hailstones and red light instantly disappeared. I kept my vision in the same place as soon as it disappeared when there was movement in the neighbours bushes and suddenly there was a figure running in front of their house and then down the street.

Did they run because they saw me?

My whole body froze, I had no idea who or even why somebody was in the bushes and would have a video camera near, filming me as if I was some sort of celebrity and had a strange stalker.

I closed my mouth from the feelings that were going through my body and with the thoughts what that were going through my mind and turned to the back door again hoping I had closed and locked it.

Quickly, as adrenaline ran through my veins, I rushed over to the back door and grabbed the keys which hung just next to it and locked the door after dropping the keys a few times out of hysteria. I locked the door as quickly as I possibly could and then turned my back to lean up against it and took a few deep breaths to calm down. I closed my eyes to try and make time pass and just hoped the whole filming business was something I had gotten wrong. I glanced over to the digitial clock as it read 1:32am when I ran upstairs stood by the side of my bed as I pulled the quilt back and pulled the purple silk quilt over my head, biting my bottom lip tight and pressed my eyelids together as hard as I could. I just felt lucky that I didn't have much work for this week.

I pressed my eyes tighter together and began shaking my head as if to shake the bad thoughs of being followed out of my mind but shaking my head for so long under the quilt began to hurt and started to feel a little weird after a bit. I felt a tingle all over my body at the thought of knowing someone maybe obsessed with me to the point they wanted to record every single thing I do and probably watch back exactly what I did during the day. Even I don't remember half of the things I do during the day but they will. The thought of them even recording me lying on the sofa, asleep, was probably the strangest feeling as, well...

Why would anyone want to do that?

It's weird.

After relaxing my eyes and feeling more and more tired with my thoughts alone I threw my shoes over the other side of the room and I finally fell asleep at about 2:30am, after a whole hour of panicking and wondering is anybody was in my house seeing as I live and sleep alone.

Normally I would wake up around 4am because I never got much sleep. I'd say I get about 2 hours sleep a night on an average night but I just cant thank the creators of coffee enough. I guess my early mornings at work are probably why my manager wants me to run the business after he's left.

Today I woke up at 10:45am.

Finally I had actually had a good night sleep even though I had a stalker.

When I woke up I completely forgot about the weird incident last night. I sat up in my bed and rubbed my forehead with both the palm of my hands to wake my whole face up. As I remained sitting up I looked around my room and after looking at the paintings on my cream painted walls I looked to the dressing table mirror which reflected the outside trees into my vision. I saw the trees moving even though it was a bright morning with no wind at all, there hasn't been wind for a few days actually, I don't think.

Why were the trees moving?

I decided to ignore it and blame it on a random animal that roams around. Well, that was until I swung my legs around to the mint green rug on the floor when my feet suddenly hit something a little rocky. I bent over to look at what was under my feet when I realised that there was a huge muddy footprint facing in the direction of my bed asthough someone had been standing there, waiting me sleep because it definitely wasn't there yesterday morning.

My whole body began to twitch. Goosebumps were all up my arms as I thought about the idea of being asleep and someone hovering over me, watching me, again.  I had no idea how to react or even how to think.

I locked the back door. I know I locked the back door.

I rose slowly out of bed and searched my room with my eyes looking to see if there was anything else that was strange but there was nothing, only the footprint. I turned my head to the window and quickly pulled the two curtains together to meet in the middle and then rushed over to my wardrobe, firstly opening my draws but then realising I was looking in the wrong place for my work clothes but then opened my wardrobe doors and got changed to new work clothes as quickly as I could. I didn't want anybody watching me as I got changed.

I threw whatever I could get my hands on first and rushed downstairs to check the back door. It was still locked.

I began questionning my own memory.

"What?" I said to myself out loud as nobody was going to hear my anyway.

Smoothly I wondered into my kitchen and was greeted by warm air. The warm air was coming from the open window.

Without any hesitation I reached for the window and pulled it shut so hard that the whole house shook but I wasn't having anybody in this house other than myself. I ran back into the living room and grabbed my bag and headed out. I needed some fresh air.
