Er....hi? So...I'm not dead. I know it kind of seems like it, but I promise I'm going to start updating regularly again. I'm so sorry for not updating in over a month, but I swear I'm going to change that. So please enjoy and feel free to drop a comment! :)

~Harper~

Ever since our ‘let’s just stay friends’ talk, there’s been a slight awkwardness between Louis and me. It’s not big enough to make us uncomfortable around each other, but I can still feel it hanging in the air. Sighing, I stretch my legs out over the sofa and take in a deep breath. I’m going over everything I know on Romanov and his acquaintance, Nikolae Calinescu, for what seems like the thousandth time. There has to be something that I missed. Romanov has a few buyers set up and I’m still trying to devise a plan that allows me to follow him to the meetings without being noticed. But despite my best efforts, thoughts of a certain blue-eyed boy keep slipping into my mind when I’m trying to concentrate. It’s beyond infuriating. It’s like the harder I try not to think about him, the more he pops up in my mind. You did this to yourself, that little voice in the back of my mind says. You should have walked away while you still had the chance. Telling it to shut up, I tried to return my focus to the information on my screen. Hearing footsteps, I quickly switch over to the Pintrest tab I have open. It’s actually really easy to work with people around me. I just have to make sure I have quick reflexes and change the tab before anyone gets near enough to see my screen.

“We’re going out,” Louis’ voice fills my ears but I don’t look up.

    “Who’s we?”

I finally lift my eyes to look at him and it takes all my will power not to stare.  He’s standing in front of me, buttoning the maroon pants he’d just changed into without a shirt on. While it’s true all five boys constantly change in front of me, I usually have a job to do and am not paying them much attention. And after kissing Louis—more than once—I can’t help but admire his bare abdomen. He’s not ripped by any means. Even most Second Years at J.C.O. have more defined muscles than him. But his stomach is flat and smooth and has the beginnings of a six pack. I return my gaze to his eyes and pretend that his lack of a shirt doesn’t affect me.

    “Everyone, I think.”

“Okay. Have fun.” I forced my eyes back to the screen, scrolling through the pictures of room décor ideas.

    “Come with us.”

    I sigh. “Why?”

There’s a knock on Louis’ door and Niall, who had been in the bedroom with Louis moments before, went to answer it. Zayn and Harry were in the hallway, grinning and ready to go. They both changed from their previous, more casual attire and are now wearing clothes suitable for a club. Now that I see him, I notice Niall’s changed as well.

“C’mon, Harper,” Harry says, dimples pooling in his cheeks as he grins. “It’ll be fun.”

They all look at me with pouting faces. I sigh and look down at my computer. I’m not getting anywhere with this anyway. Biting the inside of my cheek, I think over the offer. Seeing as I can’t seem to figure out what Romanov is up to, taking a small break can’t hurt. And if I’m being honest I kind of do want to go with them, wherever that is.

“Please?” Niall kneels down in front of the sofa, looking at me with his big blue eyes that remind me of a child’s. Closing my laptop, I roll my eyes and stand up. Just a few hours.
