Hey everyone! So apparently I'm updating on Saturdays now hahaha. Hope you like it! :) Comments/votes are greatly appreciated and thank you to all those who had already done so. Love you all!

I kept thinking of this song while writing this chapter, but I'm sure you all know it well. ;)

It’s surprising that we manage to go all afternoon without any girls swarming around us. After we stop at a quaint little café for lunch, though, things start to get a little crazy. I guess staying in one place allows the girls to get the word out on the boys’ location, or something. I stand a few feet away from Niall, Harry, and Louis, who are surrounded by teen girls and even a few guys. They sign things and take pictures, Preston and Andy trying to make sure no one gets too crazy and tries to attach themselves to one of the boys.

    “You work with Caroline, non?”

I turn, a little startled to realize that I’m being spoken to. A small group of three girls are looking at me.

“Uh, yeah,” I give them a nod and a smile, readjusting the strap of my purse.

“Iz she nice?” Her French accent is thick, but she speaks English pretty well.

“Caroline’s a sweetheart. Um, did you need something? I could take a picture for you if you need me to, or…?”

I trail off when they exchange nervous glances.

    “Tu demandes!

    “Non, tu fais il!”

They argue briefly, unaware that I can understand them perfectly. What do they want to ask me? I watch impassively as the one in the middle finally ascents and clears her throat. She smiles at me.

    “Is Louis your boyfriend?”

The question takes me completely off guard, which is not a good sign. I should have expected this. I’ve been seen with him before and at least once when he was holding my hand. Cursing myself, I resist the urge to wince. I let out a sarcastic laugh and roll my eyes, but inside I’m trying not to panic.

“Definitely not.” My calm smile belies the coiling unease in my stomach. How could I have been so careless? Christian is never going to let me live this down. “I just…I have this thing with crowds. They make me uneasy, so Louis was making sure I was okay.”

The three French girls look at me doubtfully, but I just continue to smile at them. Louis and Harry come over, Niall a few feet behind him. Preston and Andy are on either side of them. Harry comes over and throws an arm around my shoulders easily. He smiles at the girls a moment before turning to look at me.

    “Ready to go?”

“Yes,” I reply immediately, slipping an arm around Harry’s waist. Under the circumstances, it may make the rumors stop about me and Louis. Then again, it may just start speculations about me and Harry. Together we all start to walk down the street lined with shops. Once we’re far enough from the girls I drop my arm and Harry does the same.

“Did you hear them or are you just that good?”

“I’m just that good,” he winks at me, a cheeky grin over his lips.

“You’re a horrible liar, you know that?”

Harry just shrugs, still grinning. I roll my eyes despite the smile spreading over my lips. We approach a small shop with treats lining the window—chocolates, cakes, éclairs, and the like.
