Hey guys! So I know I haven't updated in like two weeks again. :/ I'm so sorry, but my life's about to get really crazy. I start at my new job today and I just have a lot of things going on. I'm going to try and update, but I can't guarantee anything. :( But I'm posting two chapters today to make up a little for slacking, so I hope you enjoy! :)

Chapter 15 will be up later today! :)

My eyes crack open, revealing a blurry ivory wall. The next things I notice are that the TV is still on, my phone is buzzing in my purse, and someone has their arm around me. I feel my body freeze, my heart giving a start and then trying to race out of my chest. Where am I? Why is someone sleeping beside me? Suddenly it all comes back in a rush and I resist the urge to bolt upright. Very carefully, I turn over and find myself face-to-face with Louis. Somehow we ended up under the covers and for one gut wrenching moment I think that maybe I’d completely judged them all wrong and he’d drugged me. But then I realize that we’re both fully clothed and feel a rush of both relief and guilt. Why would I think such a horrible thing about him? I know Louis. He would never take advantage of a girl, let alone drug her. I’m thinking like a rational being for once, I tell myself. What would happen if he really did drug you? Would you stop falling in love with him then?

My phone starts to buzz from the purse again and I wiggle out from under Louis’ embrace. He sighs deeply and rolls over, mumbling a little. I press my lips together to hold in a chuckle and tip toe over to my purse. A quiet groan escapes when I look at my screen. Not only is it Christian who’s calling me, but it’s also 6 o’clock in the morning. I take my phone and go into the bathroom, closing the door silently behind me. Sliding the bar across my screen I put it to my ear.

“What?” I hiss. “This better be good, Christian, I was sleeping!”

“Hmm, someone’s a grump this morning. Please tell me you didn’t bring that boy back to your room last night. If you slept with him I swear to God I will—”

I feel my cheeks flush red as I scowl at the white tile. “What are you talking about?”

“It’s all over the tabloids, Harper. Congratulations, you’ve officially come close to blowing your cover.”

“What are you talking about?” I repeat in a growl.

There’s a small ding and I take my phone away from my ear to see a picture from last night. It was when Louis and I went on the sunset boat tour, my head resting on his shoulder. I swallow hard and squeeze my eyes shut. It takes more effort than I like to admit to keep my hand from shaking as I put the phone back to my ear.

“We’re friends.” I state impatiently. “Just because I’m comfortable around him doesn’t mean shit. Is this the only reason you called me?”

There’s a pause and I can practically feel Christian’s sneer.

“No,” he says slowly. I can hear him typing on the other end. “Calinescu’s found a possible buyer. Expect Romanov to get a call in about an hour, discussing a time and place to meet.”

“Okay.” All my annoyance with Christian and myself suddenly disappear. My mind zeros in on my task, going over all the facts that I have along with possible theories.

“If I figure out what the thumb drive looks like, could you duplicate it?”

“Of course, but what good does that do?”
