A fortnight since Carla and Nick had split up due to Carla drunkenly cheating with Nick. (They agreed that they would still be friends).
On her way back from the casino she took a long walk along the canal. She was so so sorry for what she had done to Nick, it should have never happened and Robert never meant a thing to her, nothing at all, not like Nick, Nick was everything to her, Nick was her life as she was his.
All that Carla could think about was Nick, even when she was attempting to distract herself by gambling.
As she continued her walk she noticed a figure following her... It was too dark to make out who it was and she decided to run from them. Since her split with Nick she hadn't felt safe, he protected her for so long that she couldn't cope without him. She had been running for only about ten seconds when she heard a desperate yell, she turned around to see that the figure she had ran from was Nick... And he had been looking for her.
"Carla, I can't do this anymore. I can't live my life without you, I can't let us be 'just friends' because we both know that we can't pretend how we feel, we both know our feelings never changed."
A single tear rolled down Carla's cheek "I'm sorry, for everything." She said "You mean the world to me and then I cheated on you, I always do that you know? Whenever something bad happens I always self destruct and it's the thing that means the most to me that I destroy. You're always by side when all I do is give you reasons not to be, I never deserved you. I'm sorry but I have have to walk away from you, before I can't. I agree with you, we can't be 'just friends, so we have to be nothing."Carla turned around and began to walk away but when she turned back around to see him, he was still looking at her, he hadn't moved an inch. She couldn't walk away with out telling him "I love you Nicky Tilsley." But then she turned to walk away once more.
"I'm begging you... Please don't do this, I need you." He shouted. She stopped walking but she didn't dare look. He walked up to her and told her "You're a good person, good company, funny... Beautiful. I just want us to be happy, together." She couldn't control the tears but she didn't care, Nick knew not to mention it, he just smiled at her. "Are you sure your ready for this?" She questioned. He didn't answer, he simply held out his arms for her to walk into and they hugged like they never wanted to let go.
