The huntsman and his daughter emerged from the woods in the night. The daughter clutched a bag of gold. The huntsman clutched a bag of food. The two were being chased.
"There," the daughter said, pointing at the crest of a nearby hill in the darkness. She could barely make out the silhouette of a huge building. "A castle, just ahead. We can make it if we hurry. Those who follow us will not come out of the woods."
The huntsman gazed at his daughter, fear intensifying his stare. "How do you know this?"
The daughter shrugged, trying to stare her father down and hide the fear in her own eyes. "I don't. I'm hoping, is all."
"Hope will gain you nothing."
"No," the daughter said, already beginning to race up the hill. "Hope will gain us everything." And the father had no choice but to follow his daughter as they ran to what they thought was safety, but what truly was doom.
And the fateful meeting that followed and ended at the crack of dawn would seal the fate of a lost huntsman, his adventurous daughter, a beautiful maiden, a detestable queen, and seven curious dwarves who lived deep in the woods...
