"16 year old Maddie Marie Wenkle, is put to rest this morning after a tragic death leaving the community  grieving." said the news anchor.  A smirk spread across my face.  "Not everyone is grieving."  I murmured.  "Some of us are quite relieved."  "Lanie, are you ready?" My mother yelled "In a minute!"  I took one last glance in the mirror.  My long blonde hair sat relaxed around my shoulders and ended right above my hips.  My black floral hat sat nicely on the right side of my head with some chicken wire hanging in front of my right eye.  I had black floral tights on with a black skirt pulled up slightly under my breasts with a white Ralph Lauren shirt tucked in.  I put my black ballet flats on and walked down the hall and downstairs to the front door way of our condo.  "It's been long enough,"  Mother said.  She was always really hard on me.  Everything I did she never accepted.  That's one of the reasons I killed Maddie.  To get my anger out and because I just flat out hated her.  "You teenagers.  Always absorbed in your own things."  "Sorry Mother.  I didn't realize I was hurting your feelings."  I said sweetly as I placed my hand gently on her shoulder.  She shot me a glare and shook me off.  Mother has been grouchy ever since Father passed away 2 years ago.

"I don't even see why we have to go to this," I said as I opened the car door. "It's not like Maddie and I were friends or anything."  "It's called showing respect."  Mother said as she started the engine.  "Anyways, I'm good friends with her mother."  She said looking behind her as she pulled out of the parking lot of our condominium.  "Since when are you friends with Mrs. Wenkle?"  I asked laughing.  "Since....a while ago.  Before you were born."  Mother stuttered.  That made me laugh even more.  "You're pathetic."  I smirked.  "Plus, Maddie and her family came to Father's funeral."  "That's because he was police chief.  You were shunned if you didn't go."  I said looking out the window.

As we pulled into the church parking lot, we got stopped by a police car.  A girl my age in an orange jump suit hands handcuffed behind her back was escorted out of the back of the car.  Sophia Mitchell, Maddie's so called best friend.  But everyone knew she hated Maddie.  Which is why I framed her for Maddie's murder.  Even if I didn't frame her she would most likely be number one suspect.  "How is that girl able to show her face in public?" Mother spat.  "I don't know mother."  I sighed.  I wondered, who were the other suspects?  I was probably in the top three.

Hey readers,

How was that for a first chapter?  Pretty good if I don't say so myself.

The picture over to the side is Lanie.  Or as you know her as Ashley Benson.

Hope you guys enjoyed it!

With love,
