A kitten's way to ShadowClan (Finished)

Chapter 4

Waking up, Ice found herself outside the house, which was covered in dark black ashes. Blinking open her eyes, she saw RoachClaw, with his paws on her stomach and Patch pressing his fur to her's. Ice let out a wail of shock and collapsed her head back to the dirt in the garden, which was dead and completely burned. RoachClaw pressed her head to her burned forehead and sighed "Your safe, my kit." Ice scrambled to her paws and mewed "Where's momma?" Patch was the one to answer "She......she.....d-d-died Ice." Ice wouldn't believe this for a second and dug her tiny claws into the dirt "No she isn't! Why would you say that!?" She looked at RoachClaw "Where is she?" Her father didn't hesitate "In the twoleg nest."

Ice didn't even stopped to question what that meant and bounded into the house. Like they said, there she was. Her mother's body was on top of Alex's bleeding dead body. Ice let out a wail and ran to her mother and touched her burnt fore head to her mother's head, squeezing out tears.

A paw was touching her back and Ice turned around to Patch and RoachClaw. Her father breathed heavily and sighed "Come on kits, were going home." Patch shot him a look at did and low rumble "This is our home!" Ice sniffled and meowed an agreement. RoachClaw relaxed his sturdy muscles and tried to sound cheerful "Were going to my Clan."

Envy surged into Ice's pelt as Patch looked a bit cheerful. How could my own older brother do that? RoachClaw led the way out the house through the cat flap and meowed "OK, while we head home, make sure to stay close to me. There's horses on the other side of this wood fence, and they can stomp!" Patch's eyes grew wide with excitement, yet Ice just snorted. RoachClaw narrowed his eyes at her and meowed "Try to have a little fun." Ice smiled sarcastically and lift her tail up high into the air. RoachClaw roled his eyes "Perfect"

Ice watched as her father jumped up the tall fence and scanned the area. Once he did a full scan, he called down to his kits "OK, now you can come up!" Ice looked her father like he was mad. "Dad, how do we do that!?" Ice yelled up to him. He peered down and sighed "Oh....yeah." He leaped down and demonstrated,  hooking each claw into the wood and lifting himself up.

"Bet you can't beat me up!" Patch playfully challenged. Ice cuffed him lightly over the ear, "I will beat you!" Patch ducked from under his sister's paw and leaped the farthest he could go up the fence. Ice shook her head playfully and leaped up, flaying out her paws and landed on the fence like a tiny furry octopus. Patch was already nearly up the fence, but Ice wouldn't let him win! Ice crawled up the fence and reached the edge before her brother.

After reaching the end of the wood, she felt air go beneath her paws a fell downward, off the fence and into a puddle of swamping mud around the fence. Mewling with annoyance, she climbed out of the mud and felt like a drowned rat. With her fur sticking out in different in all directions, she felt even more weird. RoachClaw jumped down and purred "Go job at climbing, you just need to be patient, patients is better than rush." Ice looked past her father and watched as Patch struggled at the top, trying to figure out how to get down without getting mud plastered on his pelt.

A lawn mower call from behind him and he sprawled off the fence and fell head first into the mud. RoachClaw chuckled "And, you can't get scared by undergrowth cutter's." Patch looked up from the mud and meowed "You mean a lawn mower?" RoachClaw gave him a good stare and continued to travel.
