"Would you have let me stay, if I told you what I was really going to do?"

-----

"Karva!" Poe Dameron shouted as he climbed up the hill.

The brunette scowled at him. "How many fucking times do I have to tell you, Dumberon. That my name is Kra-va. Not Karva." She hissed at him.

"Are you really, absolutely, positive you're staying?" He ignored her and gasped out in one breath.

As if drained of the energy she had moments before, she wrapped her shaw around herself tighter. "Yeah," she looked away.

"Come on, the Resistance is your family! There is nothing for you here. Come with us, come with me." Poe gestured to himself. The white and orange BB unit none of them noticed beeped in agreement.

Krava sighed. "Look, Poe. I'm grateful for everything you, General Organa and the rest of the Resistance has done for me. I really am." She took a quick peek at his facial expression and gulped. It was going to be hard convincing him to let her go. "But my sister won't be able to run the estate by herself. She's too young, neither one of our parents left her a legal guardian or so much as a will. She can't do it by herself. I have to be there for her."

"So what," he let out a frustrated grunt. "We can take her with us too. You could just sell the estate!"

"I appreciate the offer, Poe, but I can't. Leriela's... Just... Just so innocent, and naive. I want to be able to preserve that purity until she has to face this world." She stared at the green grassy fields, the sapphire skies. "I faced this world by myself when I was her age. I barely survived. Leriela's so fragile wouldn't be able to make it. I know the pain. That's why I don't want anyone else to suffer the same fate, especially not my little sister, full blood or not. Which is also why I need to stay."

"Fine." Poe sighed, finally defeated. "If that's what you really want. I'll tell General Organa. She really wanted you to stay as a medic."

"Thank you!" Krava's entire face lit up.

That moment, Poe Dameron, even when he himself how much he, and everyone else wanted her to come with them, couldn't help smile back and engrave the fiery brunette-blonde's into his memory.

-----

"I'm going to ask this one last time. Are you absolutely certain you want to stay?" Leia asked the younger woman in the green tunic.

"Yes, ma'am, I am." She replied respectfully. I hate to speak like this about the General. But... We have ourselves a second Dumberon.

Leia sighed. "I was hoping you'd change your mind before now. But I guess, if this is what you really want."

The wind blew, Krava reigned in an uncooperative piece of stray hair. "You're always welcome to set up a base here, General Leia." She smiled warmly at the former princess.

"Thank you dear," Leia patted her shoulder.

"Take off in five, General. You should head aboard now." A Poe in his orange jumpsuit suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Leia nodded and then walked off, leaving the two young people by theirselves.

"Well, Dameron. Guess this is where we part, eh?" She grinned at the pilot.

"Yeah, I guess so." She was glad to see his customary grin back.

"Keep on being a hero." Something was pushed into his hand.

"Take off in two, Dameron!"

And then the girl with the brunette hair and pale green tunic was gone.

-----

Leia's face was drained of color as she heard the report. "Completely demolished?" She couldn't process the data fast enough. "Survivors?" She demanded.

She heard a sign. "Zero. General, we're sorry."

At that moment, she knew that the girl with the chestnut brown hair with a favor of the color pale green, the girl that could re-create anything out of a piece of wood, the girl who could weave any pattern on thread was gone.

Gone.

-----
