Gen hadn't spoken with Alexandria since Tuesday. Alex's (Alexandria) period five class was HASS, Gen just kinda sat at a desk at the back of the class, staring at Alex. The teacher had told her that she could leave anytime, considering she wasn't even technically a student. She wasn't even causing any trouble which had kinda shocked the class.

Alex was beginning to become worried about the pink haired poltergeist. The two had been friends since Alex's first year, but she did know that the town was a touchy subject for the girl. The only place Gen had been since her death was the school and the library that was basically right next to the school.

When the day ended Alex walked up to Gen, and stared right into her pale blue eyes.

"Why aren't you talking to me?"

"You know why"

"It's been fourteen years, get over it"

"I can't just get over dying!"

"we'll talk when you decide to act your age"and with that, Alex walked away. Leaving Gen all alone.

Gen was at the library. She would usually be enjoying the view of the town from the tall building or bouncing off the walls. But she just didn't have the energy. So, she decided to go through the books, lightly touching them with her hand when she walked. The dust at the section down the back was ridiculous, well looks like she's gotta make another anonymous complaint.

She then noticed a boy, he was quite tall but had a young face. He had messy dark hair and bright blue eyes. He was reading what looked like Harry Potter. She'd never seen him there before, although she didn't go to the library that often.

He looked up from his book, right at her. He tilted his head in confusion and set his book down. She hoped the kid hasn't seen her, although it's kinda hard not to. Her cotton candy coloured hair contrasted with her tan skin, not to mention he had looked right at her.

He stood up and walked a few steps towards her, rolling up the sleeves on his plaid shirt that had started to fall down. "Who're you?" He asked. his voice had soft feminine tone.

"Who're you?" The poltergeist questioned back, with a more demanding tone.

"Well i don't exactly know yet... I like the name 'Cas' though, you know like Cassiel the angel?"

"Hmm, can I call you 'nerd'?" the dark haired boy smiled.

"Okay then, but anyway. What's your name"

She thought for a moment, and then said "not telling"

The boy huffed and crossed his arms "fine, I'll call you 'Candy'" Gen smiled and nodded.

"Alright then Nerd"

"Ok, Candy"

"So kid, what did you mean you don't know your name yet?"

"It's complicated"

"I'm complicated"

He waved his hand, ushering her to come closer "it's a secret"

Genevieve clapped her hands "I love secrets" she said with wide eyes.

"Well, I'm...." The boy paused for dramatic effect "not gonna tell you" Gen frowned at the boy.

"Well you're nice" she floated in a cross legged position and looked at the boy, expecting a reaction.

"I know you're dead" she stared at him "I've heard about you"

"Great, I'm a celebrity" she grumbled. He laughed, this was the first time he'd laughed and she found it adorable.

"So...Candy, how's death. You know, what's it like dying" she pulled her knees to her chest and thought.

"Depends on how you die and what you choose I guess..."

"Well then... How'd you die and what happens"

"I fell off the bridge" she chuckles "it was stormy, dying felt...numb mostly. The worst part is the excoriating silence and then awaking in front of your corpse." She looked up from the floor below her to the blue eyed boy. He seemed to be listening intensely.
"Well then you get to choose your life...after life" she smiled.

"So you chose to be a poltergeist right" she nodded "why?"

"Isn't it obvious?" With that she flew off
