Silver Strider( A Pirates Story)

Chapter: 3

As I open the door, I see the captain standing with her hands behind her back and staring out at the ocean from her stained glass window. It was darker now and the sea almost blended with the shade of the sky. The moonlight on the other hand, bounced off the water giving it that pale white shine.

I don't know what it was that she could have been looking at seeing as there wasn't much to see but well ocean.

" Thank you for coming in to talk with me. I know it's been a long day, but I have some things to discuss with you." She immediately turned around and sat down at her charters desk.

" Come, take a seat." She motioned to the seat on the other side. I quietly took my place and sat with my hands folded.

The red velvet cushion is soft when my leg runs against it.

She looks over at at me and waits a moment before speaking.

" What would you say to taking over the ship for a few days?"

I stare at her in disbelief. This was unheard of from her! She's never done such a thing!

" Your serious?!"

" Yes I'm serious. I'd only be gone for 4 to 7 days at the most. Will would be there to help you out and you know this ship, top to bottom. I've showed you the maps and charted courses, so you should be fine."

" This is amazing! Thank you captain!" I continue to stare in disbelief.

She smiles" Your very welcome. And call me mom. Your captain from this moment on. Now it took me a while to decide if I would let you do this. Lately you've been a bit mischievous. Might I bring up the incident with Mrs. Deller's hair?"

Her eyebrow narrows and my face turns red.

" I don't know what your talking about." I look down to the ground.

" Usoui paid for the action both of you did."

" ok, just because we accidentally threw her conditioner over board doesn't mean we didn't get her a new one. And anyways, the hair dye was his idea. Not mine."

" See this is what I'm talking about! Your ignorance is getting the best of you! Should I even allow you to do this?! Or are you just going to decide to burn the ship and to hell with it!"

When she finally said that, I blew up. Anger and rage filled every part of my body and a sense meant nothing to me anymore.

" That's it!!!! You doubt me on everything!!!! And apparently I can't do what's right!!! I've worked my ass off doing all the work of the crew!!!!! Including you!!!! And yet your telling me that I can't handle being captain!!!!! I'm your gosh dang daughter for bloody sakes!!!!!!!!!!! Start treating me like it!!!! I can do it!!!!!! Start trusting me for once!!!!!!!!!!"

That's when she finally looked down and smirked." Ok."

" ok? Ok?! Is that all you can say?!"

" I was testing you. To see if you'd continue like this. You proved that you wouldn't back down to the challenge and you faces me head on. I'm very proud of you." She reached up to grab her captains hat and placed atop of mine. The feather dropping into my face slightly.

" what?.........but I thought you...."

" well you thought wrong. I'll be taking off when we get to this near by island and I expect this ship to be ship shape when I return, is that clear?"

" Aye capta- I mean mom."

She smiles" good. Now off you go. Get some rest, cause tomarra is going to be a busy day."

With that she walked to the door, gave me a hug and let me walk out of her courters in complete and udder shock.

Who knows how many feelings I was... Well... Feeling at the time. But boy! Was I happy! Shocked. But happy.

That night I slept like a bear in hibernation.

Dreaming about what the next day will be like.
