A/N: So I replayed the whole game through the course of this week (at the price of not doing an essay) and my heart hurts. But anyways I didn't have school today so I was able to write a lot! So what I'm going to do is actually post another chapter this weekend! It'll probably be on Sunday. Sorry that this chapter is sorta just a short filler, and it starts in Jane's POV but goes to James'.
I wake up with my head hurting slightly, but definitely not the worst hangover I've had. I also feel warm arms around me and hear the steady breathing of James next to me. I'm about to panic in confusion, but then I remember all of last night. I had a lot more fun and it was so much better than I expected. Also, luckily for me it's a weekend so Mark and I don't have to open up shop if we don't want to. I look at James and he looks so peaceful when he's asleep. I also didn't realize how long his hair actually is. I decide that I would wait until he wakes up before I get up so my movements don't disturb him. Instead, I study his features. His face looks a lot more feminine with his hair down, but I think that makes him look even more amazing. Before I can stop myself, my fingers trace the scar that runs across his eye, and then his jawline, and then his nose, and then his lips. When I touch his lips, I feel them pucker slightly on my finger and then I know he's awake. His eyes open and he smirks. I just freeze and blush like crazy because he probably thinks I'm creepy. "Good morning lass" James says in the huskiest, hottest voice I've ever heard. "How'd ye sleep?" He asks, smiling genuinely. "I slept just great. How about you?" I reply, being so grateful that he didn't comment on the face stroking. "Good. Ye want to get up and get breakfast? I bet Mark and Bennet are still asleep though, those two can drink." He says, laughing a little. I nod my head and we get up. I grab a clean pair of trousers and a clean blouse, and turn around. I didn't want to be rude and ask James to leave, so I'm going to try and get dressed while James is busy putting on his coat and bandana.
I got my blouse on, but I wasn't so lucky with my trousers. James turned around just as I was stepping into my pants, but unlike the incident with the shirt, I didn't get embarrassed. I don't know why either, maybe it's the fact that I shared a bed with him last night, or maybe it's the fact that my blouse covers my ass. But I pull my pants up and turn around too. My necklace and bandana is on my nightstand and I assume that James took them off of me. I put them on and turn to James. His face is a little pink, but I just ignore that and grab his hand.
Again, I have no clue why I grabbed his hand. It just felt right.
We walk out my bedroom door, and I suggest that we grab some apples and head to the docks to eat. "That sounds like a great idea lass." James says and we head off.
James POV
I wake up to the feeling of somebody running their finger over the scar that crosses my eye. I almost freak out, but then remember where I am and who I'm with. I pretend to stay asleep, as not to embarrass her by being caught. Jane's fingers than move to trace other parts of my face, and I won't lie that it's almost relaxing, in a strange way. But when her fingers touch my lips, I can't help myself. I kiss her fingers, and I feel her tense up next to me. I open my eyes and send her a smirk, but I feel bad for catching her off guard, so I just say "Good morning lass. How'd ye sleep?" Jane looks at me and then replies with "I slept just great. How about you?" Her voice is a bit scratchy from sleep, and I can't describe how attractive it is. "Good. Ye want to get up and get breakfast? I bet Mark and Bennet are still asleep though, those two can drink." I say, chuckling. I'm being serious though, there are some pirates who can't drink that much. Jane nods, and gets up. I then stand up and turn around to put on my coat and bandana.
Once my bandana's tied, I turn around and I'm greeted by a beautiful sight. I feel my face warm, Jane is just stepping into her trousers, and I can see all of her legs. They're so smooth and graceful. They look like they belong to a goddess or something, much more beautiful than my legs. My legs are scratched up, bruised, and not to mention unshaven, because not shaving my legs makes me look and feel more masculine, and more like James Kidd.
Jane turns around and grabs her necklace and bandana off of her nightstand. After putting them on, she looks at me and grabs my hand. I feel a rush of excitement run through me. Maybe she likes me? I shouldn't be thinking about that, because that would mean I have to tell her. It's either tell her or not get close to her.
"James, why don't we grab a few apples and eat breakfast on the docks?" Jane says, looking at me with hopeful eyes. I agree, because how could anyone resist her cuteness.
When we get to the docks, there's hardly anyone there. We find a spot to sit and I lay out my jacket for us to sit on. While we eat apples we just talk about the most random things. I found out that her favorite color is navy blue, I told her mine was red. We talk about our favorite fruits, and shanties we like to sing. The conversation is lighthearted and it flows. Nothing is forced. Whenever she makes a dark or dirty joke I get surprised, because she looks so sweet and innocent. We laugh, and we talk for hours. Even if what we're talking about is surface and doesn't say a lot about us, I feel as if we've gotten to know each other a bit more.
After we ate our breakfast, we get up and walk around Nassau. We come across this large tree, and Jane and I decide that we'd race up it. We found a pond with water as clear as the ocean and no crocs, so she pushes me in and we swim for about an hour or so. When the sun sets, we head to the tavern and get some food. That's how we spent the day, together just having fun. Jane Cliffsworth, you're a thief who is trying to steal my heart.
