*Summer of Junior year*

Brooklyn, Rosie, Kiara, Cassie and I have become really close over the years. We had a few disagreements here and there, but we pulled through. I'm so grateful that I met them at the animal shelter.

They helped to comfort me through the breaking of me and Harry's friendship. It was nice to have people to vent to. Some days I just felt sad and others just plain angry. I have just been ignoring him....or at least trying to. It's extremely difficult to ignore him as a whole since our mothers are practically sisters. They think we don't know that they have been trying to make us friends again or acquaintances. But that just resulted to short hi's and bye's and many awkward silences.

School has been tiring, but I'm just trying to graduate. I seriously don't know what to do with my life so I'm just avoiding it to be honest. My mum and I have had some conversations about my future, but I usually just stay quiet. She knows I have no idea what I'm doing, therefore she tries to "help" me without bothering me. The outcome never comes out like that though.................

"LYLA." I was quickly taken out of my trance.

"Yeah." I raised an eyebrow.

"Lyla I have been calling you for the last ten minutes. Like damn you must have been thinking hard. We have work to do. Kiara's birthday party starts in just a few hours and we didn't even finish decorating, nonetheless get the food." Cassie glared at me.

"I'm sorry I was just.......never mind that." I smiled sweetly knowing I was getting on her last nerve.

"How about we all go to that big party store which conveniently is next to a supermarket? We would be killing two birds with one stone." I suggested.

"Good idea Ly, good idea." She rubbed her hands together failing hard at concealing her excitement.

"I'm so excited. This is going to be so much fun. So we will go to the party store, buy decorations, buy soda and other beverages from the supermarket with some chips, then we drive to the other place to pick up all our food that was pre-ordered, then we'll pick up her custom made present and drive to the beach to set up and everything. I believe Brooklyn's mum already rented out that really cool room at the beach. We can put the cake and other deserts in the room." Cassie told us the agenda.

"My mum said she'll drive us and she's outside, so lets go." I tucked my phone away.

We exited Cassie's house and entered the car.

"Hey girls!" My mom greeted us.

"Hello." They said in unison.

"So first we're going to the party store." I reminded her.

"Yeah of course."

"Alright lets go split up. Half in the supermarket and the other half in the party store."

"Okay so we have the balloons, streamers, fake palm trees, fake surf boards, the coconut cups with the plates, forks and knives, and the beach balls." Brooklyn checked off everything.

"Phew, that was tiring." I moaned.

"You lazy bum."

"I'm not lazy, I'm just happiest doing nothing." I laughed and winked.

Brooklyn joined in on the laughter. "What would I do without." She stroked my hair.

"Why do you do this to me." I pouted. I made a mental note to fix my hair later.
