Narrator: storyteller with unknown relationship to the story-Played by KaylaEarly morning in the Mayweather kitchen. Daniel, Cece and Shallan are eating breakfast at the kitchen table. Rosalyn stands with her back to the audience at the kitchen counter
Narrator: The Mayweather siblings. There are three of them, as you can see. There used to be four. Daniel, Shallan, Rosalyn, and Cecelia- a happy family with a father and mother they don't see often. That is, they used to be happy. Rosalyn Mayweather, the day after her 11th birthday, was riding her new bike alone for the first time. This was almost 5 months ago. The car that hit her, a criminal being chased by the police, got away. The remaining siblings held themselves together in different ways. Daniel bottled up the pain and ignored it; Cece doesn't even know she's dead; Shallan got the brunt of the impact. She never made time for Rosalyn, and now her guilt needed somewhere to go. Shallan... she sees ghosts. That's Rosalyn, in the white.
Shallan: Rosalyn, can you hand me the milk?
Narrator: Everybody ignored Shallan , as this was a common occurrence
Shallan: Rosalyn, the milk.
Narrator: she waited
Shallan: Rosie! I said to bring me the milk!
Narrator: Daniel, next to Shallan, had given up on trying to convince her Rosalyn was dead by now.
Daniel: Stop it. That's not funny, okay?
Narrator: Shallan, bored of Daniel's silly comments, rolls her eyes
Shallan: Fine. I'll get it myself.
Narrator: Shallan retrieved the milk, and returned to the table to eat. Rosalyn, who routinely followed Shallan around, came over to see what she was eating. Shallan had never treated Rosalyn nicely anyway, but now it was almost worse. More guilt, I guess.
Shallan: Stop crowding me Rosie Posie!
Narrator: Rosalyn shrugged it off, but Daniel could only take so much of this. Using her old mean nickname for Rosalyn finally burst his bubble.
Daniel: Stop! Just...stop, okay? It's already been five months since she...
Narrator: Daniel paused here and glanced at Cecelia, careful in his choosing of words to keep up the guise that Rosalyn had simply left for a time
Daniel: ...left. Just accept that she's gone, okay?
Narrator: Shallan, used to this but distraught asked,
Shallan: You mean...can't you see her too?
Narrator: Daniel finally broke, yelling,
Daniel: (slams fist on table) No, I can't!
Narrator: There was a long pause, tension filling the room. Shallan was almost grinding her teeth together, staring, at Daniel, who was frozen.
Cece watched the new turn of events with alarm. Rosalyn cocked an eyebrow. Finally,Daniel: (taking a deep breath) Just drop it. Go to school, you're going to be late.
Narrator: Shallan was indignant, huffing, she yelled,
