Creative name, right? I actually don't like this one very much, but then again, A) it had a sucky topic (can you guess? If you guessed "stereotype skit" you're a winner!!!) And B) it was the very first skit we did this year, so cut us some slack please.

Aradia: Emo - Played by Kayla
Beca: Emo - Played by Emma
Winston: awkward nerd who likes Beca - Played by Eden
Donna: "basic white girl"-Played by Me
Sarah Jane: "basic white girl" - Played by Elodie

(Scene opens in classroom with everybody sitting at desks. ARADIA has her head on the desk and seems sad. BECA is writing a poem. WINSTON seems interested in BECA, and is staring awkwardly at her and glancing away when she returns the eye contact. DONNA and SARAH JANE are whispering conspiratorially.)

DONNA: Why do those emos have to be so depressing?

SARAH JANE: I know, right?

WINSTON: (approaches BECA hesitantly) Um...hey, Beca...what...(fidgets) um...(gathers courage) whatcha writing about?

BECA: (sarcastically, with a glare) Death.

WINSTON: (pauses and points awkwardly) Okay!

DONNA: (obnoxiously) Seeeeee?!

ARADIA: (picks up head off of desk) Do you have a pair of scissors I can use, Winston?

WINSTON: Why?

SARAH JANE: Oh my gosh, Donna, she's totes gonna cut!

ARADIA: Because I like frightening people. (grins creepily)

WINSTON: uh...bye...(leaves)

(Bell rings)

DONNA: The bell already? I haven't even finished! (other girls murmur their assent)

WINSTON: I have!

EMOS: Typical. (laugh at synchronicity)

(Everyone turns in papers and leaves classroom, enters new classroom)

ARADIA: (groans) Oh, we're getting test results back, I forgot! (pause) Sure, I'll pass them out. (Everyone gets papers. WINSTON is last and is waiting enthusiastically.)

BECA: (receives paper) 84. Pretty good. Aradia, what'd you get?

ARADIA: (glances back) Same as you.

DONNA: I got a 90!

SARAH JANE: 81...good enough.

WINSTON: (is waiting impatiently, snatches paper and rips it, everyone snickers. He looks expectantly at grade, face falls as he registers it) I...I got...how?

SARAH JANE: Whatcha get, nard?

WINSTON: (devastated) I got...I got a...(sadly) a 77! (collective gasp,(BECA snickers and quickly tries to look remorseful)

BECA: (as everyone looks at her) Oh, sorry, that's...uh...horrible. (hides face and laughs)

SARAH JANE: We get extra credit for test corrections, guys. (everyone starts to write, WINSTON dives for paper and begins writing furiously)

ARADIA: (looks up) Finally, the bell! This day has been hell.

DONNA: (in a loud whisper) Sarah Jane, did you hear that? Emos are so dramatic.

ARADIA: Excuse you?! Aren't I allowed to have a bad day without being called an emo?

DONNA: Well, you are, aren't you?

SARAH JANE: Why else would you and Beca wear all black and loads of eyeliner?

BECA: (indignantly) Because I like how I look in black!

ARADIA: And, well, why are you and Donna dressed...(makes face, gestures up and down)...like that?
SARAH JANE + DONNA: (gesturing to other girl, speaking in unison) Because she does.

BECA: Well, at least we're unique.

ARADIA: Yeah, when was the last time you two did something because you wanted to?

SARAH JANE: Hmm.

DONNA: (chargrined) I actually don't know.

BECA: (in a reasonable tone) That's kinda why you guys are called basic white girls.

DONNA: Huh. I didn't think of that.

SARAH JANE: You wanna know why y'all are called emos?

ARADIA: Actually, yes.

SARAH JANE: (quietly) It's because you never talk to anybody else. You're so...drawn out of society and stuff. It's weird.

BECA: (hotly, offended) I happen to not like society, so there.

DONNA: Why?

BECA: It's because people like you always pick on people who are remotely different. Like us. And,... well, Winston. (WINSTON perks up at the mention of his name)

ARADIA: About that. Were you actually writing a poem about death?

BECA: (as WINSTON comes up behind) No, I just wanted that creep to go away. (exaggerated shudder) The way he's always hanging around me...ugh.

WINSTON: (hurt) Oh. If that's how you feel.

Sorry! I know I have the rest of this skit at home somewhere in paper form, I'll get that to you soon
