Forbidden And Unexpected, But That's Love

Chapter 4

"What are you doing?" Kylo asked. He told her he won't kill her so why does she have her lightsaber activated? "Behind you," Rey whispered. Ren turned his head and saw two animals, probably native inhabitants of this snow-covered planet, preparing for an attack. They were big, white, with thick fur and frighteningly looking teeth, that could tear apart even metal parts of their spaceship. It seemed like they haven't eaten for months, they were starving, craving for fresh blood. Kylo immediately activated his saber and stood in front of Rey, he wanted to protect her. "I don't need your protection," she said as she read his mind. She found peace there, he wasn't afraid, he was only worried, worried about her. Rey slowly walked towards Kylo, her leg still hurting and waited for the attack. One of the animals came closer and Kylo and Rey stuck more together. They were standing back-to-back, ready to protect each other, because right now they didn't have another choice. When the teeth were inches from Rey, she blocked the attack by moving away. Her reflexes got better after training with Luke and she used this advantage and tried to hurt the animal. Unfortunately, it was as good fighter as her. The second animal attacked Kylo. He used his great fight skills as well and everytime it looked the animal will get him, he surprised it by a qucik move. This match was tiring and intense and it wasn't good for his hurting body. "Rey? How are you doing?" Kylo shouted behind his shoulder, waiting for a response. "Rey?" he turned his head and saw her lifeless body laying in the snow. A rage flew through his veins. The anger encouraged him in the fight and he killed both of these monsters. As soon as they were laying in the snow the same way Rey was, he ran to her. He took her head in his hands and carefully wiped away the hair from her face. "Rey, stay with me, please," he whispered. "Only you can save me." He sat there in the snow, holding her body, trying to keep her warm. After a while, she finally opened her eyes and saw Kylo Ren above her. She whispered silent thank you before falling to unconsciousness again.

Rey woke up and felt warm, which was weird, because they were trapped on a planet covered by snow. 'They'. Kylo Ren saved her life. Multiple times. But why? She opened her eyes and saw blood everywhere. She panicked and screamed. "What's up?" she heard a silent murmur behind her. She turned her head and saw Kylo sitting up. "I want to ask the same," Rey replied and looked around. They were in the ice cave, sleeping on one of the dead animals, covered by the second one. That's where the blood is from. She also noticed she was covered in Ren's black cloak. "Uhm..I...I am sorry for the blood on your face and everyhwere, but this was the only way to keep you warm," Kylo said. "Wow, that's pretty impressive. I guess you are more intelligent then I thought," Rey said and chuckled. Kylo, on the other hand was sad. "I am sorry, for making this inappropriate joke, I shouldn't-" Rey started to apolgize but Ren interrupted her. "It's not your humor, I just...my father taught me this. When...When I was a little boy, he used to tell me stories about him and my mother and I liked this one, because he saved Uncle Luke like that. He went searching for him on Hoth when he was missing and found him wounded in the snow. He saved his life by putting him into a dead Tauntaun." Rey didn't know what to do. This man has changed. He told her about his father and she didn't know how to react, because Kylo was the one who killed Han. She wanted to encourage him, or at least make him feel better. "Anyways, thank you for not letting me die, I uhm..thank you," She looked in his eyes and when she focused on his eyes she saw he was still a little boy, maybe tough on the outside, but inside, he was lost, broken, he was lonely and felt guilty. "Oh, it was nothing, besides, sorry for not asking earlier but how do you feel? Are you hurt or something?"
"I am fine," Rey said and sat back on the temporary bed made from the animal. Honestly, she felt cold when she was out of the covers. She started shaking and Kylo noticed. "Come here," he said and guided her to lay beside him. She didn't want to be so close to him, but he saved her so she let the thoughts go. Without thinking about who she's lying next to, a killer and one of the most powerful people in the whole galaxy, she closed her eyes and with the warmth of his body next to hers she fell asleep.

Kylo woke up and reached for Rey, but she wasn't there. He sat and looked around the cave. Her bag was there, but her lightsaber was not. He wanted to stand up and go look for her, but then he saw her coming back, slowly, carefully standing on her hurt leg. "You went out for a run, huh?" he asked and it surprised Rey. Firstly, she didn't expect to see him up before the sunrise and secondly, he was joking. Mr. All Serious And Evil made a joke. 'But he's a Solo so what could I expect?' Rey asked herself and then decided to answer something nice, good mood was important for them. "Someone's in the good mood," she said and sat beside him. "Well, someone has to be, right? " he replied, raising his eyebrow. Rey couldn't recognize this man. "Okay, who are you and what did you do with the Almighty Kylo Ren?" Kylo let out a light chuckle and without thinking what he's saying he answered. "You know, I have this Ben Solo inside of me and from time to time he wakes up and starts tearing everything I did apart. He questions all my decisions, he destroys my work he...he makes me doubt myself."
"I think I like him," Rey replied, without thinking as well. Kylo looked her in the eyes, shocked with her answer. Something inside of him moved. It was the light he wanted to bury for so long. When he saw Rey looking at him like no one else did, he wanted to do everything he can to make her happy, literally everything, even bringing Ben Solo back. "I think he might like you, too, if you give him a chance and will be patient with him." Rey didn't answer, just smiled at him, processing what he said. 'If I bring him back to light, it...it would be amazing,' Rey thought and decided she will set this as her mission. 'Or I can join him in the dark,' she thought as well and this thought surprised her. Was it she doing because of him? Or her?

The first rays of sunlight hit the entrance of the cave and she stood up, dragging her with him. Right now, she didn't want to choose between Light and Dark, right now she wanted to get know Kylo Ren better. "Come on, the sun is rising," she said and with his hand in hers they left the cave.
