Episode 6 – Going On A Mission…With Cloud
After meeting with Zack and Aerith, Dani went back to 7th Heaven.
“I’m back,” Dani announced.
Tifa was making macaroni and cheese. “Oh, you’re back!” Tifa walk up to Dani with a spoon of macaroni and cheese. “Here, try this.”
“I don’t think I-”
Tifa put the spoon of macaroni and cheese in Dani’s mouth.
“Arhm…” Dani chew and swallow the macaroni and cheese, and said with a surprise expression, ”Wow~”
“By your expression, it’s good right?”
“Totally. Did you make this?”
“Yep.”
“When did you learn how to cook?”
“About a few years ago…And remember the snack I gave you before you make your departure?”
“That delicious caramel inside the chocolate ball? Yeah.”
“I made that.”
A surprise expression appears on Dani’s face. “You made that?! Didn’t know your culinary skills are that good. Didn’t know you even have culinary skill. You’re full of surprise, Tifa.”
Tifa giggled, and said, “Thanks.” Then she went back to the kitchen.
Dani walk up to one of the tables and sit down. “Is Cloud still upstairs?” she asked curiously.
Tifa turn off the stove, and clean up. “No; he’s gone on a delivery.”
“Oh, I see.” Dani sound kinda sad, and yet, a bit of relief. Half of her was sadden by the fact that Cloud left and she wants to see him; on the other hand, she’s relief because she’s feeling a bit afraid to face him.
Tifa put the macaroni and cheese on plastic plate to store them in the refrigerator. Then she walks to Dani’s table.
“Hey, Tifa, give me a round.”
“A round? But you just got back. You should get some rest.”
“I’m alright, really. I still have plenty of stamina to eliminate an army.”
“You’re always overdoing things. Why don’t you settle down for a bit, and relax?”
“If I do that a long time ago, would you think I'd be here right now?”
“I guess you’re right.”
Dani’s cell rang. She checks the front screen on her cell to see that someone has sends her a message. Dani flip her cell open then open the message.
Dani put away her cell. “Duty calls.” She get out of her seat, and was about to walk to the front door when the front door opened. It was Cloud.
Cloud just came back from a delivery. Then he walks up to the counter pass Dani, and sits on the stool.
‘That was cold. I’m a little hurt,’ Dani thought.
“Tifa, give me a round.”
Tifa went back to the counter, and give Cloud a glass of beer. “How was the delivery?” she asked.
“It was…fine…I guess.”
Dani let out a short sigh, and was about to walk to the front door when Cloud asked her a question.
Without making eye contact with Dani or facing her, he asked, “Where are you going?”
Dani turn around to face Cloud. “I have a mission to go to.”
Cloud stands up from his seat, and turn around to face Dani. “No you don’t.”
“Wha…Why?”
“You’re staying put until your wound heals.”
“You’re not my dad, Cloud. I can do whatever I want.”
Cloud walk up Dani, and said seriously, “Don’t start with me.”
“No. Don’t you start with me.” Dani turn around, and was about to walk away when Cloud caught her arm.
“You’re not going anywhere,” Cloud said sternly.
“I got a job to do, Cloud. It’s urgent.” Dani tries to tug her arm out of Cloud’s grip; didn’t work.
“How urgent?”
“Very; not long before a dragon appears again to conquer the village.”
“I’ll come with.”
“What? Are you sure?”
“I’m sure.”
Dani let out a sigh of defeat. “Fine; you can accompany me on my mission.”
“Cloud, promise me you won’t let Dani do anything life-threatening,” Tifa said.
“What? My job is not always life-threatening,” Dani argued.
“I won’t let Dani get involve in life-threatening situation. I promise you with my life,” Cloud said with a serious expression.
‘Is he serious?’ Dani thought with disbelief.
“Make sure she doesn’t.”
Dani look at Tifa with a disbelief expression. “What are you, my mother now?”
“I could be by the way you act.”
An animevein appears on Dani’s head. “Why you-!”
Dani was cut off by Cloud, “Come on; there’s no time to fool around. You have a job to do.”
“Oh, right. Later, Tifa.”
“Have a safe trip,” Tifa said with a smile.
With that said, Dani and Cloud head out.
