Episode 9: One Surprise After Another
After they’ve fallen, Cloud begins to regain conscious.
‘I’m…still alive…?’ Cloud thought.
Then Cloud realizes there was something or someone on top of him. Cloud looked down to see that it was Dani, and he has his arms around her. Cloud was glad to see her, but then, he gasp in shock as he saw blood on his hand. He felt something on Dani’s back. Out of curiosity, he lightly pulls on it.
Dani jolted in pain while gaining conscious. “Nnah…!”
“Sorry!” Cloud quickly apologized.
“Haa…We’re…still alive?”
“Yeah, but you have an ice shard on your back.”
”I see…Take it out…”
“You’ll bleed.”
“Cloud, please…”
“Alright. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Cloud laid Dani on all fours on the ground. Then he places his hands on the ice shard, and pulls on it with his full force.
“Nn…!” Dani try to stay still.
Cloud gives it one more pull.
“Ah…Aah!!”
Once the ice shard came out, Dani quickly cast a healing magic called Regenerate as kanji appears and display on her gloves’ jewel, and place her hand on her chest. Her wound starts to heal. Dani breathe heavily. When she finally catches her breath, she said, “Damn; and this was my favorite vest.”
Cloud threw the ice shard aside, and crouches down in front of Dani, and place a hand on her shoulder. “Are you going to be okay?”
Dani look up at Cloud with a smile. “I will. Don’t worry.”
“Dani…”
Once Dani’s wound healed, the kanji that display in her gloves’ jewel disappear. “I’m fine.” She stands up.
Cloud stands up. Dani took a few steps before losing her balance. Cloud quickly catches her.
“Dani,” Cloud said softly.
Dani sigh in defeat. “I could use a rest, but we still need to slay that dragon.”
Cloud nod, and said, “Alright.”
Dani gasp as she notices Cloud’s side is bleeding. “You’re bleeding!”
“Huh?” Cloud finally notices. “Oh…”
“Oh? That’s all you can say?”
“What do you want me to say?”
Dani sighs. “Let me heal you up.”
“We’ll get some rest and heal up after we find a safe place first.”
“Okay.”
Just as they were about to take a step, the same King Arctic Leon appears before them, but it seems like the King Arctic Leon is about to collapse.
