Episode 0: The Descendants of Sephiroth
Dani has been traveling around for any exterminating job and she just finish her last one. She walked out of the village Calm Land to her motorcycle. Just then, a 5 year old little girl (Sherry) and a woman (Linda) who seems to the little girl’s mother came up to her.
Sherry pulled on Dani’s shirt.
Dani looked down at Sherry. "Hm? Yes?"
"Thank you for protecting us from the monster, Dan-Dan."
Dani smiled and ruffle Sherry’s hair. "You’re welcome, Sherry."
"We are in your debt, Miss Dani," Linda said.
Dani looked at Linda as she bowed at her.
Dani rub the back of her head nervously. "N-no. No. It’s not a problem at all, Mrs. Redfield."
"But you have saved us all from those monsters. There must be something I could give you for your hard work."
"Well…" Dani cup her chin with her right hand. When she finally decides on a decision, she let her hand fall to her side. "I am traveling all around the world looking for materia."
"Ma…teria?" Linda said.
"Hey, Dan-Dan, what’s a materia?" Sherry asked.
Dani looked at Sherry. "Materia is a ball-sphere-like-item that sparkles in the inside."
Linda pulled out an item that seems like the exact description Dani describe and show it to her.
"Well, will this do?"
Dani’s eyes widen as she see the material in Linda’s hand. ”How did you get that?"
"Mama has it for a long time now," Sherry said.
"I’m not sure what it does, but I hope this will help you in some way."
Dani gladly took the materia Linda offered her with both hands. She examines the materia; the material was a sliver white color, like a crystal, inside and outside.
Dani happily grin with stars in my eyes. “Thank you, Linda!"
Dani hug Linda as Linda was getting nervous.
“Um, you’re welcome, Miss Dani."
They separate from the hug.
“And whenever you need help, you can always call me anytime."
"Yeah!" Sherry cheered.
“Well, I must get going now."
Dani got on her motorcycle, start the engine, and put on her goggles similar to Cloud Strife’s. Dani was gonna drive somewhere off when Sherry call out her name.
“Dan-Dan! Will we get to see you again?"
Dani looked back at Sherry and nodded. At that, she drove off to god know where.
When Dani was halfway away from Calm Land, her cell ring. Dani park her motorcycle as she pick up her cell and answer it.
“Dani Cross."
On the phone line, there came Tifa Lockhart’s voice, “Hey, it’s Tifa."
“Tifa? Heh, it’s been a long time since you call."
“You too, Dani."
“Sorry. Been pretty busy. Well, why'd you call?"
“Well, you don’t mind coming for a visit do you? If you don’t want to, it’s alright."
Dani smiled. “Don’t worry, Tifa. I’ll be there. Where’s your place and name?"
“It’s in Edge, 7th Heaven."
“7th Heaven in Edge huh. Cool name for a place."
“Thanks."
“Well then, see ya later."
“Bye, Dani."
“Bye, Tifa." Dani press the end call button and put the cell in her pocket.
Then Dani drove off to her next destination, Edge. Just as she made halfway to Edge, she has to go through some desert and the fogs were everywhere. She couldn't tell if was still in the day time or night.
Dani stop my motorcycle as I saw three white-haired male on their motorcycle. One of them has shoulder length; the second has chest length while the third one has short haired-Kadaj, Yazoo, and Loz. The three spotted me and stop me from going anywhere.
The shoulder length white-haired male, Kadaj, starts talking, "Well, well, well. Look what we have here."
Dani pull down her goggles and let them fall to her neck. "And you are?"
"Sorry for my rudeness." Kadaj got off from his motorcycle and walked up to Dani on the left.
“The name’s Kadaj. And these two are my brothers, Yazoo…” Kadaj point at the long-haired guy. “…and Loz.” He point at the short-haired guy.
Dani flip her bang with her right hand and smirked. “Well, I’m flatter. The name’s Dani."
Dani took out her gunblade and pointed at Kadaj as Kadaj do the same with his katana. Yazoo and Loz got their weapon out.
“And if you don’t mind, I would like you to move out of my way," Dani said.
“Fine." Kadaj looked at his brothers and nodded, signaling them to put away their weapon as Kadaj and Dani put away their weapon. Kadaj touch her left hand that’s on the motorcycle handle.
“But, we’re not gonna let you go that easy."
Kadaj then suddenly pat Dani on the shoulder where the scar Sephiroth gave her and felt something injected into her arm. Something black and gooie. Geostigma. For a second there, Dani flinch as she felt her shoulder being in pain so she quickly push Kadaj’s hand away from me and throw down a smoke grenade. It was gift from Yuffie when Dani was in Wutai. Smoke was everywhere. She drove out of the smoke. She took this chance to escape and drove as fast as she could to get out of there. She was in so much pain from the burning feeling of the scar on her left arm that she presses the auto-drive button on the middle of her motorcycle.
Dani clutch her left arm and close her eyes in pain. "Dammit! Ugh!" Then she thought, ‘Damn you, Sephiroth. Why did you give me this scar?’
What Dani didn’t know was that Kadaj, Yazoo, and Loz were following her from behind. She heard another vrooming sound. She looked back to that Kadaj and his brothers were following her.
’Great, just great,’ Dani thought sarcastically.
Kadaj laughed. "You’re not gonna get away that easily, little Dani!"
“Damn! Not good!" The burning pain on Dani’s left shoulder suddenly disappears.
Dani press the auto-drive button to go to Tifa’s place. She jump backward high enough to be end up on the middle of the desert where Kadaj, Yazoo, and Loz riding their motorcycle circling around me.
Dani smirked and took out her gunblade. “So, you want a battle? Well then. Bring it on!"
