Passing By Chapter 10

I go to Antonio's room, to see if he is awake. To my surprise he's not there. I walk to the kitchen, and see Vanessa on the counter table. Antonio standing in front of her.

He flirts with her as always. Then they both lean against each other, kissing. I feel like crying, I just go back to my room. I am going to leave without him. Yup, that's me that rebel.

I decided to go to a tiny little restaurant. And all I order is a lemonade. I put my hands on my face, and cry. Why was I so gullible to believe him. He is a player, I am so stupid.

I was right. When I first met him, we were never going to be together. The waiter came back with my lemonade. I looked up and saw it was my friend Uriah. "Mari, what happened," he asked.

I just stood up and hugged him. "Come on tell me. I want to see the enthusiastic Mariana again," he said. "It's just a long story," I respond

After I met Uriah at the park, and told him everything. He looked at me with sadness. "It's okay girl, you want me to. Come over this afternoon," he said.

"Sure, and can we please watch Care Bears," I said in a baby voice. He laughed, "yes," he responds. I laughed as well. Then I saw a a man selling cotton candy.

"Come on, lets go before he leaves," I said while pulling his arm. "Alright," he says. I ran all the way over to the food cart. I stared with amazement at the machine making the cotton candy.

"Two," Uriah told the man. He gave us the cotton candy, and we paid. Then left.

"Hey, my brother is having a party tomorrow. Do you want to come," I asked. "Sure, what time," he responds. "At nine," I reply.

"Cool see you there," he says.

Uriah says he will be here in a few minutes. I grabbed the popcorn out if the microwave, and went to my room. As I was walking, Antonio came towards me. "What movie are you watching," he asks.

"I am watching Care Bears with my friend, and San Andreas," I reply. "Can I join in," he asks

"No, go hang out with my brother or Vanessa. I can see that you two have been seeing each other a lot lately," I said.

"I told you that I like you," he says. "Is that so, how come I saw you two kissing each other in the morning," I told him.

"I don't know, I guess-," I cut him off. "You should know, then who should I ask. And you might like me, but you will never love me," I respond, and left.

Honestly, I don't want to spend my whole weekend crying over him. That is what drama queens do. Anyways, I put the movie in the DVD player.

Uriah came in singing. I laughed. He came towards me, "come on sing with me. It will be fun," he said reaching his hand towards me.

I took his hand, and he picked me up. We were singing In My Head by Jason Derulo. To be honest Uriah and I make a great team, when we sing. We both have the vocals, I just never really liked singing imn front of people.

We were dancing on the bed, while singing. Then we both fell off the bed. Then we both laughed so hard, that our stomachs hurt. "That was fun. So are we going to watch our movie, or are we going to sit here," he says

"Let's watch the movie," I respond.

Uriah's POV

Both Mariana and I fell asleep. I woke up at 11 pm, but Mariana was still sound asleep. She must be tired from all that goofing around.

I picked her up, and lied her down on her bed. Then I tucked her in bed. "Goodnight," I whispered. I kissed her forehead, and left.

On my way out, Antonio was at the living room. "She seems to be happier with you," he says. "What do you mean," I asked. She is happy with mostly everyone.

"I heard you guys singing, laughing, talking. I even passed by and saw her lying on your shoulder," he says.

"Not my fault you hurt her. She needed a friend other than Vanessa," I respond and left.
