Song: Someone Like You
By: Adele
I walk into school, groaning internally as I walk down the halls. This would be a lot more enjoyable if Chris wasn't too busy avoiding me to hang out. I run a hand through my hair as I walk into my first class, all of my limbs feeling like they're weighed down by a block of cement.
"Someone looks tired." Chloe comments as she stands from her perch on the top of my desk. She offers me a small, forgiving smile as she pulls me into a best friend hug. I hug her back as I let out a sigh. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you." I murmur as I pull away, going to sit down with her close behind.
"It's alright, I'm just glad I finally know why you've been asking me and my parents to put your allowance away for you. I laugh dryly at this. "Even if I had told my dad I was just saving it for a rainy day he would've ended up taking some of it to pay for his drinking habits and possibly something Veronica related." I tell her and she nods in understanding as Logan walks in.
I nod to him and he gives me a worried frown. "I heard you're planning on leaving this summer." He comments and I nearly laugh. "I'm guessing everyone knows by now." I answer, watching his face turn red. "S-sorry, Chloe thought I might want to know." He stutters and I immediately feel bad for my tone.
Of course Chloe would tell Logan, he's her boyfriend, she vents everything to him. "It's fine, I mumble to him softly as the teacher walks in and everyone begins to find their way to either their seat or the class they're actually supposed to be in.
I stare forward as our teacher drones on with morning announcements when one catches my ear. "Do to some gas leaking issues and past complaints from families Harrison High School will now be shutdown indefinitely. This means that the students attending that school will be split up and separated into the surrounding high schools which includes ours. Meaning, we have some new students."
Everyone starts to murmur in confusion at this, clearly this is new news to everyone, including me. We all look at one another as the teacher waits for us to quiet down before continuing. "Now, the should be here any minute so I expect-" He's cut off as there's a loud bang and the door bursts open.
I feel my jaw drop as in walks Blake with three other boys strutting behind him. I watch as Blake's eyes survey the classroom until they land on me, which causes a smirk to immediately break out on his face as he notices my shocked expression.
Completely ignoring the teacher who is trying to talk to him he makes his way over to me before leaning against my desk and whispering in my ear, "I missed you beautiful." I lean back in surprise, immediately closing my mouth and raising an eyebrow at him.
"Look at Mr. New Kid Confidence over here." I reply and he smiles before leaning back and stretching, causing his shirt to lift slightly, revealing what looks like a six pack. I roll my eyes at his showing off along with the three boys who had walked in behind him but I hear the girls behind me let out sighs of admiration.
"Of course, bathroom boy had to be switched to my school." I comment out loud to him and he laughs before walking behind me. I turn to watch him as he raises an eyebrow at the girl who's sitting behind me. "Excuse me beautiful, I'm afraid do to my horrible eyesight and hearing I'll have to ask for your seat, otherwise, I won't be able to hear or see a thing." He puts on an apologetic look and I nearly bust out laughing at the falseness of it all.
The girl eats it up, still swooning at being called beautiful as she quickly takes all of her stuff and sits in one of the empty seats near the back. That's some power. I think as I start to wish I'd had that when I'd got stuck in the front near the beginning of the year.
