“I’m gonna kill him.” Thor growled and I shook my head at him.
“No you can’t.” I tell him. He stares at me, a little shocked.
“Why?” He asks and then holds my hands hard in his. “He just kissed you and you’re defending him?”
“No! I’m not defending him, I’m defending you.” I answer. He looks a little confused.
“I don’t understand.” Thor answers.
“He’s your brother if you kill him it will hurt you more than anything Thor. It was only a kiss and I kicked his butt after he did it. He won’t do it again.” I told him. Thor looked at me a little hesitantly and then nodded.
“Alright but this is the only time I’m letting it slide. I won’t listen to you next time.” Thor said, looking down at me. I felt that sense of don’t let anyone get close to you because they’ll betray you kick in and pulled away from Thor.
“It’s none of your business anyway Thor.” I told him and began to walk away. I didn’t know where I was going I only knew that I had to get away from Thor otherwise I’ll say something I don’t actually mean and end up having another fight with him.
I could hear him behind me as I tried my hardest to get away from him. I turned once left, then right, then left again trying to get away from him. It didn’t work like I planned. After that last turn I spun around in confusion as I came to a dead end and ended up face to face with Thor. He looked angry standing in front of me and pretty intimidating.
“Esmerelda why do you keep doing that?” I had to fight a shiver that was running it’s way down my spine as he said that. I didn’t want to feel it at all. I stood up taller and put on a cold, disinterested face.
“Keep doing what?” I ask him.
“You keep letting me in and then knocking me out like you’re running from something. Why?” He said this all together and I knew he had a point. I kept letting my guard down around him and I found myself wanting- no needing- his company and that was not right. I went a long time without someone’s company and I was fine by myself. I raised myself that way.
“I have no idea what you are talking about.” I said with a simple shrug and moved to leave the way I came. I had just brushed past Thor when his hand tightened around my wrist and pulled me closer to him. I gasped and tried to pull my wrist back, but it wouldn’t budge.
“You like me. I know you like me so why do you keep fighting it?” He asked. I kept my mouth shut, not wanting to see the joy on his face when he found out what we both already knew- what I was hiding from myself.
“I can tell by just doing the simplest thing.” He whispers moving closer. He lightly brushes my cheek and I felt it go warm under his hand, a blush forming. “When I touch your cheek you blush. when I touch your collarbone you gasp.” He did just that and I tried not to but I gasped as his calloused fingertip lightly touched my collarbone from the opening of the shirt. “When I touch your neck you always clench your fist, and when my lips lightly touch yours you melt completely into me.” He didn’t touch my neck which I was thankful for, but he did kiss me. At first I fought him, telling myself that it was stupid to give into him, but my body had other ideas. I melted straight into him and he placed his hands on my hips pulling me closer while I wound my arms around his neck and lightly pulled his hair. I was lost in the kiss for two minutes before I realized I’d just given in when I told myself I wasn’t going to ever again. I pulled away and ran as fast as I could away from him. There was no way I was sitting near him at dinner tonight. Or Loki.
For dinner we all had to choose something white for some odd reason. I had picked out a dress that was strapless with a heart shape neckline. The top where the heart began was pure diamond, but as the diamonds went down to the waist colors of green and purple appeared. The dress flowed down to the floor and the rest was pure white. I added white pumps to complete the outfit. I designed my hair to fall in perfect ringlets down my right shoulder with bobby pins securing the back of it. I added on only mascara, eye liner, and clear lip gloss before I headed downstairs to join everyone for dinner.
