Just warning you my author's note is a rant basically.
Chapter 9
“A nice hello would have been a much more polite form of greeting us” Adam said in a joking manner.
“Yeah” the rest of the group agreed with a smirk on their faces.
Oh, Shut up” I replied.
“Language missy, we have innocent little children listening” both Megan and Adam said as they covered both of Elena and Austin’s ears.
“HEY! We’re not little kids” Austin argued in an upset voice as Megan nodded furiously.
“It was just a joke, you both need to take a chill pill” Megan said sassily.
Oh, no they were gonna start arguing again weren’t they. I might as well stop it before it escalates to them actually damaging something. There fights got extremely violent, for example one time Austin threw Adam through the wall just because he thought Adam had stolen his food. Megan turned out to be the culprit though so we all laugh over it now.
“Everybody just stop it already and tell me right now why you’re all here” I said with clear authority.
"We’re going to be joining you officially on your assignment due to some reasons we can’t tell you yet till after boot camp rounds for the X Factor. Max told us it was confidential so don’t even ask us why. “Austin said.
“And also umm…. well, you know how you had that pounding in your head” Elena said with a timid voice.
"Yeah” I replied softly.
“Max told us it means that you’re transformation of becoming a full angel is near”
“What do you mean, I’m not a full Angel, both my parents were humans and that’s a fact.”
"It doesn’t matter that your parents were humans when you were anointed of being an angel your wings glowed differently compared to ours” she explained as the others nodded. “Adam’s wings radiant’s a deep purple, Megan had a bright pink, Austin a sky blue colours while my wings glow red when we transform.”
They all left as I pondered over what they just told me, there was just too much to comprehend at the moment. Since you probably don’t know what I’m talking about I’ll explain. There are 4 levels in being an angel and each level has its job in the afterlife.
Guardian angels are at the bottom of the pile at level 1, another name we get called are the safeguards. We protect humans from any type of danger, most beginner angels go into this job then they move up the ranks, unless they get attached to their human.
Level 2 are the Reapers they take good and bad souls to the Inbetween where they are decided by the council whether they go to heaven or hell. The reapers usually dress in black but some wear white, they aren’t evil they just get described that because they have a chilling presence that causes fear to whoever they guide to the other side.
Level 3 angels are divided by field and desk agents and are called the soul catchers or soul retrievers. The field agents are sent to earth to bring unwilling souls back to the Inbetween or destroy spirits that could endanger or cause humans to find out about us angels. The field agents take the captured spirits and send them to the council while the desk agents store all the data needed. Sometimes if the job gets too much they retire to level 1 to relax a little.
Level 4 angels are called the fate spinners because they decide when you get reincarnated and how they do it is by spinning a spinner causing a strand of thread and that creates someone’s entire life span. They know everything that happens to a human’s life and can also end humans lives too. Instead of them being 3 old ladies that determine the lives of every human it’s actually about 24 angels that are the most trusted by the Council.
Full angels are basically the council, they control all the divisions and every once a hundred years one council angel will go to heaven and pass down the legacy to someone they deem to be a perfect role model to the other angels, it doesn’t matter if your human or not. This is the greatest honor for anybody to receive. There are six of them and even if one of them chooses you, the angel or soul has to prove to the other five council members that they deserve the privilege. It’s never been heard of for a Guardian angel to get that chance.
“Now that we have given you time to think about it, let’s get out of here and meet that sister you wouldn’t shut up about” Megan shouted as I jumped in the air scared out of my mind.
“Language missy” I said mockingly as we all left the bathroom. Everyone laughed but all I could think about was how I managed to have an council member choose me as their legacy.
{Authors Note}
I know you probably wont read this but I've had a lot of Math homework like every night and I'm pretty sure if I hadn't dedicated so much time in my advanced math class that I am now, then I would be failing it. Most people would be like that's not a big deal but it is because my teacher last year gave my class no homework so it's a big change from no homework to a lot. I also have a To Kill a Mockingbird presentation that is on Tuesday but I haven't even started it yet because I procrastinate too much.
I also have like so my writers block I'm not kidding like I have these other ideas on other story concepts but I want to finish this story first. I refuse to be a writer that makes so many stories but doesn't add any more chapters besides a description and first chapter, that would annoy me like I'm thinking of deleting Safe Haven because I have a blurb for it.
