❝My love please do not go where I cannot follow.❞

"Hey, how are you? It's been a while." The chilly air ran up and down my skin, creating goosebumps wherever it touched. My hands instinctively tightened the coat around me.
"Me? I've been doing just fine. The arbutus you planted are starting to bloom, I even brought some with me." My fingers trembled as I reached for the wilted flowers in my pocket.
"You know we all miss you a lot, your brother especially. He beats himself up every day over your death. I'm trying to keep an eye out for him like you said, but.. but." Searing tears were dripping down my cheeks, falling down onto the smooth stone in front of me. "Everyone just forgets that you were ever even alive."
Before I knew it, my nails were digging into my palms, throat swelling up, voice croaky as I repeated the same words I said every day.
"It's getting harder without you here, I'm forgetting you piece by piece. But I know you're still alive, I know you're out there somewhere. You couldn't just leave me without warning after all these years, could you?"
The edges of my lips curved into an empty smile. Hollow laughs, a tiny puddle forming at the bottom of my feet. Everything was silent, the only noise filling the atmosphere was the choked back cries sealed by my lips. My body lurched with each wave of tremors as I continued to sob over her grave, but I was more than far used to it by now.
Pathetic, one of the strongest willed Zodiac was crying over a girl who was proven to be dead centuries ago. But that didn't matter, nothing really did anymore.
"Hey.." A low voice mumbled behind me, trying to get my attention. Though I was still hunched over the gravestone, a gruff noise served as my response. "I'm sorry," A sharp pause, whoever was speaking was probably afraid I'd lash out at them. "We all miss her y'know?"
"Get out with it." I wouldn't say I was exactly proud with how I acted nowadays, but I wasn't remorseful for my actions.
"We have a meeting in the gathering room." Making no attempt to say anymore, their loud footsteps indicated that they had left me to mourn by myself again.
Wiping away the water on my face, I slowly got up from the ground. The bouquet of flowers in my hands were crushed, but I gently placed it over the slab of stone anyway. "See ya later Gem." No reply.
"Remember, forever and always I love you." Pulling my coat tighter around me, my eyes stinging, I left her not before giving her grave one last glance. "And forever I'll wait."

I know this chapter is a bit short, sorry sorry! The next chapter might be a little on the steamy side, but what can you expect after a sad chapter? You need something to heat it up ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
