Dad's "Mom Speech"

Kaidyn's POV

It has been a day since Dad and Vaeh's "Dinner Dilemma", and they haven't talked to each other NOT ONCE! How do you not talk to your dad, let alone, living in your house for the weekend. It's also been super awkward, what with Dad and Vaeh not talking, and Vaeh being the only person I can really talk to. But don't get me wrong, Yolivia is soooooo nice. She was telling me all about Egypt and Aaron and how hard it was for her when her mom and dad were divorced. Now, today's the day we go back to school and Mom is coming to pick us up. That also mean that it's Dad's last chance to make peace with his daughter. Better act now...!

*Dad knocks on Nevaeh and Kaidyn's guest bedroom door, Kaidyn answers*

Kaidyn: Dad? What in the world are you doing up at...

*Kaidyn glaces at the digital clock*

Kaidyn: ...at 5 In the morning?! We don't have to wake up til' 8
Dad: I know, but I wanna... patch things up with Vaeh, ya know
Kaidyn: Yeah, I guess. But for 3 hours?
Dad: only the Lord knows how long its gonna take...
Kaidyn: Whatever, I'm gonna go sleep in your bed
Dad: Uh, can't do that...

Dad: Kourtney's in my bed
Kaidyn: Ugh! I'm going to get breakfast. Oh, and Mom texted me, she said that she'll be here at 8:45 to get us
Dad: You ought to be waking up know you know how your mom is...
Kaidyn: ...never late
Dad: You got it, go eat

*Kaidyn walks back in*
Kaidyn: Oh and Dad?
Dad: Yes sweets
Kaidyn: I think she's depressed *leaves the room
Dad: Oh-

*Dad walks into the room, shakes Nevaeh awake*

Nevaeh: *wakes up startled* NO I DON'T HAVE WNY MONEY PLEAS-- oh, it's just you. You almost gave me a freaking heart attack
Dad: Can I talk to you, daughter to Dad
Nevaeh: Call me what you want, I'm not your--
Dad: *Says in a powerful, demanding voice* YES, you are. You are my daughter, Nevaeh Tyndale No'Nenya. You are and will always be my daughter and I cant seem to understand why you think I'd ever abandon you or Kaidyn
Nevaeh: I don't wanna talk about it, I'm going back to sleep
Dad: No, tell me what's wrong. And you're not going back to sleep until you tell me what's going on, even if your mom comes
Nevaeh: ...Ya know, Kaidyn told me all about Yolivia
Dad: What about her
Nevaeh: She told me all about how her dad abandoned her, and how she hasn't seen him in... 2 years?
Dad: Oh, I... I didn't know that
Nevaeh: Yeah, you haven't been caring about a lot of people lately

*Navaeh's eyes begin to fill with tears as she thinks about what that would be like, for her own dad to abandon her. She loved him so much*

Navaeh: Dad... if you're gonna leave us just say it, I can't go on this emotional roller coaster with you and mom anymore, these past 5 months have been nothing but hell

*Naveah begins to sob*

Dad: Awe sweets *embraces Nevaeh and holds her tight*. Baby girl, I am TRULY sorry I made you feel that way, I would never intentionally hurt you. *now looking Nevaeh in the eyes* I just wanted to make a good impression but I was being one sided and I'm very sorry honey... can I call you that now?
Nevaeh: Yeah... Dad
Dad: Now stop crying before you make me cry

*Navaeh chuckles and the two hug*

Dad: Do you forgive me?
Nevaeh: I do, if you agree to never put me and Kaidyn on the back burner again
Dad: I promise, and if you ever feel neglected, don't hesitate to tell me even though i think you're was ahead. And tell Yolivia that she can come to me too
Nevaeh: Sure, she is really nice
Dad: Yeah, I bet. Now go get some rest, your mom is gonna be here in and 3 hour and 30, and go to the kitchen and tell KD she can come back to bed
Nevaeh: Thanks, I love you Dad
Dad: I thought you didn't like mushy stuff
Nevaeh: Yeah, but it's okay when it comes from me
Dad: *Chuckles* I love you more sweets

IN THE KITCHEN...

*7:15 AM*
Nevaeh: Hey, K.D., how was your morning
Kaidyn: Look who's in a good mood? You made up with Dad
Nevaeh: Yeah, it's... whatever...
Kaidyn: Whatever? You're totally happy that you and Dad are cool now

*Dad listens at what Nevaeh and Kaidyn are taking about from the side wall*

Nevaeh: Well, between me and you, I couldn't stand being mad at Dad, I really love him, and being mad at him it, it didn't feel right
Kaidyn: Awwww, look who actually has a heart
