Mom: Honey, I said me and your father... we're divorced
Kaidyn: DIVORCED!? But why?
Mom: Kaidyn, your father and I have been having complications for some time now, you know that...
Kaidyn: Well... well is there anything I can do?
*Kaidyn drops a tear*
Mom: No, I just signed the papers, the divorce is already finalized.
Kaidyn: Mom, thus isn't fair. How are you gonna tell Vaeh?
Mom: That's what I kinda wanted to talk to you about... I was wondering if you would tell her.
Kaidyn: WHAT! You and Dad decided to put me and Vaeh's happiness behind us and get divorced and now you want me too tell my little sister that... wait, where's Dad?
Mom: He's... out.
Kaidyn: Doing what?
Mom: Looking for... houses.
Kaidyn: DAD'S MOVING OUT!? Oh my goodness, this is the worst... will I see him before he leaves?
Mom: Well, he has to come back to get his clothes, but he would never leave with out saying goodbye, honbun.
Kaidyn: Well if you say so... I guess I'm gonna go break the news to Vaeh.
Mom: Are you sure?
Kaidyn: Umm, yeah. I mean... she's gonna figure out one way or another and I wanna be the one to tell her.
*Kaidyn walks upstairs; walks into Vaeh's room*
Kaidyn: Nevaeh, are you in here?
Vaeh: Nevaeh? You almost never call me that... is something wrong?
Kaidyn: Uh, do you remember that talk we had the other day?
Vaeh: The one about how love doesn't always last forever?
Kaidyn: Yeah, well I don't wanna keep you curious for too long, so I'm just gonna come out and say it...
*Kaidyn paused for about 30 seconds trying to figure out an easy way to say it*
Kaidyn: Mom and Dad are... gonna be on a semi-permanent vacation from each other.
Vaeh: What do you mean?
*Vaeh's eyes become full of tears and shaky*
Kaidyn: Mom and Dad are... divorced.
*Vaeh runs to her bed and balls out in tears. Kaidyn joins her in a hand-full of tears*
Kaidyn: Vaeh it's gonna be okay, Mom is gonna take good care of us. And think about it, Dad might be home to eat dinner with us tonight, maybe you can tell him how you feel about this whole thing.
Vaeh: You think that will really make me feel better?
Kaidyn: Maybe, if you let it heal you...
*2 hours later, been eating dinner for about 15 minutes*
Vaeh: He's not coming, is he?
Mom: Honey, you don't know that.
*Mom places her hand on Vaeh's arm, Vaeh quickly pulls her arm away*
Vaeh: Don't... touch me right now. I'm not ready for "healing" yet, and I don't want it from you.
*Kaidyn give Vaeh a look, as if she's confused about what's going on*
Kaidyn: Uh, Vaeh... what are you doing?
Vaeh: KD, how do you know she's not the reason why we're not gonna have a dad... semi-permanently?
Mom's Thoughts: Semi-permanently?
Kaidyn: Don't think about it like that, you don't know that.
*Dad walks in, everyone's heart drops*
Dad: Umm, hello my sweets, Candice...
*Dad kisses both the girls foreheads, he goes to sit down*
Dad: Chicken for dinner, again.
Mom: Well maybe if you would provide food for this family, we wouldn't have to eat left covers.
Dad: My family?
Mom: This family... after this thing blows over, I'm taking custody of my girls.
Dad: I think you mean I'll be taking my girls to my place after this mess.
Mom: C'mon, now Evan. I'm mean... well, girls who do you want to be your full time parent?
*Vaeh and Kaidyn look at each other, then full their mouths with chicken*
Dad: Really Candice, why would you ask the girls?
Mom: Well... don't ask me.
*Dad wipes his mouth and stands up*
Dad: Vaeh, sweetheart, can you please glance behind you and tell me what time it it?
Vaeh: Uh... 8:45?
Dad: Oh, I'm late!
Kaidyn: Late, late for what?
Dad: I'm going to see a land lord of on of the apartments I checked out. Bye my sweets.
*Dad kids both the girls heads, again*
Vaeh: Mom, Kaidyn, what's gonna happen to us?
Mom and Kaidyn Say In Unison: I don't know...
