nightmares ; yoonmin

chapter 9

"jimin? do you think- do you think it would be okay if maybe we visited daegu for a couple days? together?" yoongi asked one night, while they were lying in bed. jimin paused only momentarily, before turning on his side to face yoongi. "of course, yoongi. am i meeting your parents, or something?" jimin asked casually, not knowing how sensitive that topic was for yoongi. yoongis breath hitched in his throat, "no, i- uh- i dont have any." he responded, making jimins heart fall into his stomach.

"o- oh, i- im sor-" but jimins sincere apology was cut short when yoongi spoke up, "dont apologize, its okay. it was a long time ago, anyway. sympathy does nothing. thank you, though." yoongi said to him, an expression on his face that jimin couldnt quite read. no matter how long its been, it could still hurt. is what jimin wanted to say, but decided against it and kept his mouth sealed shut instead. he just reached for yoongis hand and laced them together, squeezing his tightly. "no matter what, i'd love to go to daegu with you." jimin then said, putting a smile on yoongis face.

so, over the course of two days, they finalized the train tickets and packed all of the things they needed. on the morning of their departure, jimin just couldnt shake the feeling that he was forgetting something. as they walked down the stairs in their apartment building, it finally dawned on him. "ah! i forgot my pills!" he practically screeched, not even giving yoongi a heads up before sprinting back to his apartment. yoongi sighed lightly, he had already contacted mr. jeon and told him that they would be away for a little while, so he was all set.

once jimin had scurried back to yoongi, pills in hand, they were set to go in only thirty minutes. they both rushed to the train station, scrambling to try and hold all their bags while doing some weird cross between a speed walk and a slow jog. once they got to the station, they had to board the train immediately, seeing as they only made it just in time.

practically ten seconds into the trip, yoongi was already fast asleep, leaning on jimins shoulder. jimin didnt feel tired, so he gazed out the window and took in all the nice scenery. he sighed lightly, lovingly caressing yoongis hair as he slept. the train was packed with people, so they ended up sitting right across from a mother and a little girl. "omma, look at him! he has orange hair!" the little girl squealed, pointing a small, chubby finger up at jimin. jimin smiled down at her, chuckling slightly. "dont be rude, youngji." the mother said to the little girl, before looking up and smiling apologetically at jimin.

jimin shook his head lightly, trying not to wake yoongi. "its completely fine, shes adorable." jimin whispered, smile still on his face. the lady smiled a genuine smile, "thank you! this is youngji." she explained, "youngji, say hi to the nice boy." she then whispered to her daughter. the little girl looked up to jimin, gummy smile on her little face. "hi!" she squeaked, waving happily. "im jimin, and this is my boyfriend, yoongi!" jimin greeted, smile on his face. he was secretly praying that this lady wasnt homophobic. 

the lady nodded, "you both are very handsome, cute couple." she complimented, smiling. jimins heart warmed, "thank you!" he thanked her graciously, before looking back out the window. yoongi shifted slightly in his seat, snuggling further into jimins side. we are pretty cute, arent we? jimin thought to himself, a satisfied look on his face.

hours later, welcome to daegu! was what jimin read on a sign as the train passed it. he sighed, they finally made it to daegu. it would probably be another hour or two before they made it to yoongis province, but he was excited to see all of daegu. he had never visited before. yoongi was still sleeping, so jimin decided against waking him up. jimin struggled to keep his eyes open, sleep trying to pull him in. he couldnt sleep, though. the risk of a nightmare was too big and he certainly did not want to make any type of a scene. so he just stared out of the window and listened to yoongis steady breaths.
