Description: It's Valentines Day, and Godzilla is taking Mothra out on a date. Unfortunately, Gigan and Biolante have the same idea. Once they run into each other, the night will take an unexpectedly strange turn, involving getting stuck on a ferris wheel.
Godzilla knocked on the door of Leo's treehouse. Ever since Dogolas' attack, Mothra hadn't really felt safe in her tent. She had been staying in the treehouse with Leo and Battra for a while. It was pretty big, about two stories, and sat in the branches of a large tree in the forest. There was a reason Godzilla was up there, knocking on the door. It was Valentines Day, and he had a date planned with Mothra. He had reserved a table at the best restaurant in Japan. It was pretty expensive, but Mothra was gonna love it. A few moments passed, and again, Godzilla knocked on the door. Finally, the door opened.
"Hey Mothra, are you ready to... oh." Godzilla's expression flattened as he saw who had opened the door. "Hey, Battra."
"Hello, Godzilla." Battra replied. "Nice suit. What's the occasion?"
Godzilla was wearing a black and grey sports jacket and dress pants, with a dark green tie. He was also holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand. He wouldn't be dressed like this for any other occasion.
"If you must know, me and Mothra have dinner plans tonight." He replied.
"Oh that's right, she was talking about that all day." Battra said. "She seems pretty excited."
Godzilla smirked upon hearing this. "Is she here?" He asked.
"Yeah, she's upstairs. She said she'll be ready in a few minutes." Battra answered. "Until then, would you like to come in?"
"Uh... sure." Godzilla agreed. Battra ushered him inside, and they sat on the couch for a while. Despite being in a tree, the house was pretty nice. Battra lived in the house as well, and had acquired most of the furniture and appliances. Out of all the living spaces on the island, Leo's treehouse was the nicest to live in. After a while, Godzilla checked his watch. About 5 minutes had passed.
"Should we call Mothra?" He asked. "It's been a long while."
"She'll be ready soon." Battra assured.
"Okay, but the restaurant reservation expires soon." Godzilla mentioned.
"Well, you know how she is." Battra said, shrugging. "Until then, let's watch some TV."
Godzilla was about to object, until Battra grabbed the remote and clicked the power button. Some boring history show was on. Godzilla expected Battra to switch the channel, but he didn't.
Godzilla groaned and slumped into the couch. An hour passed. Godzilla was half asleep when the show ended.
"Well, that was fun." Battra said.
"Yeah, sure." Godzilla yawned. He remembered why he was even in the house in the first place, and checked his watch. Once he realized what time it was, he groaned in annoyance. "Well, shit. The reservation expired. Great."
"Oh, that's unfortunate." Battra smirked, he turned to face the stairway leading to the second floor. "Mothra, are you ready yet?" He called.
"Yes, I've been ready for the last few hours!" She yelled back down. Godzilla's eyes widened.
"What!?" He yelled.
"Oh, is that Godzilla?" Mothra asked.
"Yep, that's him." Battra answered. "He finally showed up." He smirked evilly at Godzilla as he said this. Godzilla's eye twitched. He quickly realized that Battra had planned all of this. He wanted to ruin their date. Battra was pretty protective of Mothra, and had never really approved of her relationship with Godzilla. But this was going to far. Before Godzilla could confront him about this, Mothra appeared, rushing down the stairs. She was wearing an elegant white sleeveless dress, with a light purple jacket overtop. Her hair was combed down and straightened, with a gold hairband keeping it together. Once she saw Godzilla, she ran up and hugged him.
"This is gonna be so much fun!" She exclaimed. "I've been looking foreword to this date all week!"
"It's great to see you too, Mothra." Godzilla said. "Unfortunately, there's no point in going out now. My reservation at the restaurant expired a half hour ago." Godzilla admitted. He glared at Battra, who continued to smirk back. Mothra let go of Godzilla, and her expression fell.
"Oh... we don't have to call off the date, do we?" She asked. Godzilla thought quickly. He didn't want to disappoint her.
"Well, maybe we could see a movie instead." Godzilla suggested. "Anything you want to see?"
"Not really." Mothra said. "But if there's anything you're interested in, I'd be happy with that."
"Nah, I was just hoping there was something you'd want to see." Godzilla admitted. He shrugged solemnly. "Sorry, Mothra. This night didn't really go the way I had planned." Mothra sighed, pulling her hairband off her head.
"Well, I guess we could go out some other time." She said, smiling sadly. As soon as she said this, Godzilla became determined. He didn't care what Battra thought of their relationship, but he wouldn't let him ruin Mothra's night. He tried to think quickly again. There had to be something they could do. Finally, he thought of something.
"Wait! I just remembered there's a carnival going on in Tokyo." He said quickly. "I know it's a little childish, but it might be fun."
Mothra's eyes lit up and she hugged Godzilla again. He lifted her off the ground as she did so.
"That's a great idea!" She agreed. "C'mon, let's go!"
She grabbed Godzilla's hand and ran through the door. Before they left, Godzilla looked at Battra, who was clearly disappointed that his plan had failed. Godzilla smiled smugly at him as the door closed.
