Description: In this instalment of Kaiju Classroom, Godzilla and Mothra discuss their home, Monster Island.
(Mothra's text is in italics, Godzilla's text is in bold)
Hello there. I'm Mothra.
And I'm Godzilla. But you already knew that. In fact, you probably know a lot about the Kaiju who live on Monster Island.
But I'd bet you don't know a lot about Monster Island itself. And today, we're going to tell you about it!
Monster Island is actually one of four islands which exist as homes for various Kaiju. The others are Skull Island, where Kong was born, Infant Island, where Mothra was born, and Newborn Island, where me and my dad used to live.
Monster Island is off the coast of Japan, only a few miles away from Tokyo. Skull Island is closer to Africa, and Newborn and Infant Islands are right in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, only a few miles away from each other. The last two are regarded as twins because of their familiar names, and the fact that they're about the same size, and in the same location.
But we're here to focus on Monster Island. Basically, it's a volcanic island with several different biomes. Theres a jungle, forest, desert, and a beach, along with an inactive volcano in the middle. It's pretty rare to have such a small island with that diverse of an ecosystem.
The name Monster Island come from the fact that it's one of the earliest places Kaiju called home. Though I don't exactly like being called a monster, the name seemed to stick, even when people's views on Kaiju got better.
Originally, Rodan and Anguirus lived here on their own, until Mothra and I showed up. But even they weren't the first to live on the island.
The first Kaiju species we know of who lived on the island were the Meganulon, a group of insect-like Kaiju lead by their king, along with his daughter, who you may have known as Megaguirus... I don't really want to talk about them...
Anyways, since the Kaiju who live on the island each have their own preferences, each of us live in different areas. Mothra and I live in our tent in the forest, which is close to the beach, while Leo and Battra share a pretty big treehouse not far from where we're set up. That's the one of the only place on the island with electricity, so we spend a lot of time up there.
Rodan doesn't really have a set living area. He mainly sleeps in trees and stuff in the jungle or forest. And I'm pretty sure Anguirus sleeps in a cave. Muto doesn't really sleep, but when she does, she usually just sleeps on the ground or crashes on the couch we have in our tent.
Zilla and Komi live closer to the jungle biome. They built a cabin for themselves a little while ago. They somehow get electricity there too.
Actually, I've never really thought of it before, but how do we get electricity here?
I don't actually know. Jet and Moguera must've set it up when they used to live here.
That makes sense. Either way, Monster Island isn't very big, but it's not very small either. Maybe there are other Kaiju who live here that we don't know. But even if there aren't, it's home to not just us, but a many other Kaiju like us. I speak for everyone on this island when I say we all love it here.
And that's all the time we have today. It's been a while since we've done one of these. Maybe we'll find some more stuff to talk about later. Until then, class dismissed!
