Chapter Five | Elissa Springs

Today is the worst day for single people.

Valentines Day

It's the day where couples buy each other red roses, chocolates and other cheesy crap. Unfortunately we have school on this day so mostly you will see kissing and crying,

how lovely  note the sarcasm

The day before today, Octavia had asked, no TOLD me to come to hers early so we could get ready today. Even though I see no point in looking nice as we both don't have boyfriends.

So at 5:00am I woke up but I got out of bed at 5:20am, as who wakes up this early for school (not me). When I had got out of bed, I looked into the mirror and I looked at shit all right, I had eyeliner on after the day before and my hair was a mess. After staring at myself I got into the shower and washed my pale body and my light brown hair.

By 5:45am, I was ready in my tracksuit and had my clothes for today in a bag. Grabbing my car keys I left my house, and was off to Octavia's house.

I arrived at Octavia's at 6:00am, parked my car outside her house and walked up to her front door pressing her door bell.

5  minutes pasted and still no one answered the door so again I rang the door bell and finally after another 5 minutes, the door open revealing a wet red haired girl.

"Heyyy gurll, come in come in" Octavia sang.

I rolled my eyes and followed her to her bedroom.  Our rooms were quite a like, they were both dark looking Octavia's was black and red  but on the other hand mine was dark grey and it did have a bit of colour.

Her outfit was laid out of her queen sized bed and I did the same with mine.

After 2 hours, we were ready.

Octavia had on a black skater skirt with a red neck crop top which was paired with black chunky high heels, her bright red hair was slightly curled at the bottom and to finish her look with a crescent moon necklace. I did her make-up what was just a smokey eye look with eyeliner, and her lips were covered in dark red lipstick, which looked amazing on her.

I had on a light grey boatneck jumper that was longer at the back, I matched it with a burgundy skater skirt what I paired with brown combat boots. My boring brown hair was straightened and I put on my sliver arrow necklace to finish my look. My make-up was like my everyday look, different shades of brown eyeshadow and eyeliner, I didn't put lipstick on so it was covered with lip balm.

When we had looked over our look for the fifth time, we started to looked for my car keys that we lost in the process of getting ready.

After running around like crazy people, we found them in the bathroom (Don't ask how they got there), we looked at ourselves again in the mirror and left the house.

We arrived just in time for form, people were staring at us when we walked into the room, I felt uneasy at this old feeling. Me and Octavia used to be kind of popular but that changed after something that we had done. People started to hand out cards to her friends or partners, everyone had got a card whilst me and Octavia didn't because we didn't even buy one for each other.

Britney, the head of 'The Plastics' came up to us,

"Aww, didn't mummy and daddy pay someone to give you a card, bo ho" She smirked at us

I was pissed and I mean really pissed, I stood up out of my chair and shouted at her "Why don't you go back to your boyfriend, who by the way has aids and go and fuck yourself Britney. You dirty, stuck up, sadistic, shit eating, cock sucking, buttfuc-" Even though Octavia was enjoying this, she had to stop me from carrying on.

Mr Jackson, my form teacher sent me to the head and of course Octavia didn't let me go alone. When I had got to the head teachers office she was waiting outside for me, Octavia tried to walk in with me but Miss Cumberland stopped her "Miss Chase can you please wait outside" She closed the door and sat down in her chair.

"Miss Springs, what you did today in form was a disgrace, swearing is not allowed but what you had said was worst. So I want you to write a sorry note"

"No" I replied rudely

"Miss Springs-"

"No, I won't apology for my bad behaviour in from, before I say sorry why don't she? She was talking about my family when we are going through a hard time, so please enlighten me, why should I say sorry?" 

"Elissa, please do not rise your voice at me, and listen to me. You will go to Miss Walker and apology and if you don't you will get an hour detention, I know how you must feel over losing your mother"

"Bullshit, give me a detention because I'm not apologising." And I walked out her office, I would tell Octavia was listening as she smiled at me when I closed the door on my way out.

When me and Octavia walked into the lunch hall, everyone stopped talking and looked at us. We went to the front to get our food, I ordered a chicken sandwich as I wasn't that hungry, we grabbed our food and thanked the dinner lady when we had got to our table, everyone was still looking at us.

Someone had sat down beside me and put their hand on my thigh, I stared at the persons hand and then at the person who the hand belonged too. And no other than Damon Russell was there, his beautiful blue eyes and those lips..

I snapped out of my day dream when I heard my best friends voice "Can we help you, dickhead?" 

"No you can't help me, but Elissa can" he winked at me

"Damon, last time I saw you, I said I would rip your dick off and staple it to your forehead, if you really wanted me to do that you could have just asked" She smiled sweetly at him

Damon's eyes had widen and he stood up but before leaving he left a box of chocolates on the table, I smiled at him. When he had left I started to piss myself laughing

"I'm so glad your my best friend, Oct"

Arriving home was different today, and that's because my father was here, me and Caleb haven't seen him for a long.

"Dad?" I whispered, an ant wouldn't have heard me but my father did. He turned around and gave me a smile but not in a nice way, he had been drinking. He started to walk up to me, I closed my eyes, I could smell the alcohol from a far.

Before he could do anything, my brother had walked in

"What's going on" He asked, but he's eyed had darken

Even though me and Caleb didn't get along, we still cared about each other.

"Elissa go to your room"

I didn't answer, I just ran to my room and cried while they were shouting in the background.
