Chapter 14 New Year's Eve ~Continued

The day passed quickly and was filled with laughter as the two explored Great Falls and the nearby area.

Plans and reservations were made for the Sip 'n Dip where Ryan and Aurora watched mermaids swim in a see through pool area that was viewable from the bar.

All too soon the afternoon ended and twilight descended as they entered the hotel lobby once again.

"That was a great day!", Aurora claimed as they rode the elevator to their floor.

"Yes, it was, and that pizza really hit the spot!"

"So, shower, change and meet at the lobby?", Aurora asked as the exited the elevator.

"Sounds good.30 minutes long enough for you?", Ryan confirmed.

"That's a little fast.Let's say 45.", Aurora suggested.

Ryan nodded and turned to his room, while Aurora turned to hers.

"See you soon," Ryan yelled back over his shoulder as he unlocked his door.

"Yup!",Aurora returned as she too entered her room to prepare for the evening ahead.

Ryan stood waiting in the lobby.He hadn't taken long to shower, shave and change into dress pants and a white shirt.He hoped he looked appropriate but there wasn't much choice for clothes when he had come directly from a war zone.

Gazing around the room he saw a beautiful woman exit an elevator.She was wearing a plain black dress that ended just at her knee.A heavy winter coat covered her top but it was in-zipped and Ryan could see several silver chains peeking out as she approached.

"Aurora you look great!," Ryan greeted her.

"Thank you Ryan, I don't really dress up too often but figured this would work.You look great too.Did you call the taxi?"

"Yes, he should be arriving any moment now and he will message my cell.Plus I booked him to pick us up at the casino at 1 am.Sound good to you?"

"Perfect," Aurora began to speak as a chirp interrupted her.

Ryan glanced at his phone and typed a message quickly back.

"That's Phil, he's out front with the taxi", Ryan spoke as he zipped his coat.

"You ready?"

Aurora nodded as she zipped up to and they headed outside to the night waiting for them.

The casino was very busy when they arrived.They checked their coats and wandered, playing blackjack and roulette as well as just sitting back admiring the other players as they played.Time flew by and soon they were making their way into the bar where they had decided to await the count down to the new year.

"I've had so much fun!", Aurora announced as Ryan and she found a table and sat with their drinks.The crowded dance floor beside them made it hard to speak without shouting.

"Yeah, me too!", Ryan leaned over to Aurora's ear and spoke in it to be heard.

Aurora shivered as his breath tickled.
