Phoenix POV
"Hahahahaha sucker!! Go back to jail!!" James grinned as Tyler grudgingly moved his cat to jail. We had been playing monopoly for the past 45 minutes and I was starting to get bored. Hunter had gone out for a run and Jace was still washing the witch hazel out of his mouth. I stood up and stretched, deciding to get some food.
"Hey I'm going to the kitchen. Want anything?" I asked. James, Tyler and Sam all said that they wanted a blood bag. I walked to the kitchen, shaking the pins and needles out of my feet. I yanked out the door to the giant fridge and shoved the neat stacks of blood bags aside, grinning as I saw leftover pizza. I grabbed it and checked it, making sure it was still good before putting it in the microwave to heat up. I grabbed three random blood bags and my pizza and walked back to the living room. They didn't even look up as I threw the bags onto the table and walked out, taking a huge bite of the pizza.
I decided to go for a flight, quickly finishing the remains of the pizza. Opening a window, I glanced towards the living room. They wouldn't mind would they? Deciding to ignore the guilty feeling in my gut, I jumped out, transforming in the air. I gave a beaky grin as I felt the cool breeze ruffle my feathers as I glided through the air. I decided to check on the coven house, hoping it was alright. I landed gently on the porch and touched the handle, releasing a small shock of magic. The door swung open and I walked into the abandoned house. A fine layer of dust had settled over everything, giving the house a creepy feeling. I walked through the different rooms, whispering quick cleaning spells as I did so. I tip toed into the basement, jumping at every little sound. I knew that no one would be here, but that didn't stop me from getting creeped out.
I opened the door to my room, relieved when I realized nothing was out of place. I walked over to the bed and flopped down, staring at the ceiling. Why was life so hard? I mean, wasn't killing my parents punishment enough? I don't know how long I sat there staring, but eventually I sighed and I sat up and walked over to my desk. I moved some random papers aside and stared at the picture. A man and a woman stood there, gazing down at their three kids lovingly. The oldest child had that too bored to care, but I'll do it anyways expression, as only 11 year olds can. The young boy was grinning as he tickled the small girl beside him. She was laughing and begging him to stop. I felt the tears form in my eyes and wiped them away quickly. Now was not the time for that.
I grabbed a bag and threw some clothes and other things in. I grabbed my hair brush and other toiletries, shoving them in without caring how it fit. After some debate, I carefully placed the picture in as well as some old grimoires I found on the book shelves. Satisfied, I walked back upstairs, shutting the door to the basement behind me. I closed my eyes and chanted the counter spell, determined to get out of there ASAP. I felt the energy crackling around me and knew they were almost back. I ran towards the door, slamming it shut as I raced through. I lit myself and my bag on fire, teleporting us a good mile away. It was a good trick, but short distances only.
I flopped over onto the ground, catching my breath. The spell was powerful, much more so than I had originally made it. Anya must have tried to break it, I thought wryly. I checked my phone, frowning as I saw that it was already 4:30. I had been gone for almost 2 hours. They are going to be furious, I thought as I began walking back to the mansion.
Anya POV
I sat on the bed in the attic, growling in frustration as I tried to contact the spy again. It was hard and very complex, but I had found a way to contact the outside world. All I needed to do was summon a dark spirit, take control of them using necromancy, have them take over a body and have the body deliver the message to whomever I wanted. The only problem was that no souls would willingly be summoned to my calls. I frowned as a static filled the air. Now what?
The room flickered and seemed to fade as I felt something pulling me towards it. I relished the feeling, excited to finally have a way out. The strange electric feeling of teleportation surrounded me, quick flashes of flames appearing randomly. It's about time you brought us back, I thought angrily. How dare she leave me with them for almost 3 weeks? The walls of the living room came into focus as the static cleared up. The others were all standing around with eyes wide as saucers, looking around in shock. Not waiting for them to recover, I quickly ran out the door, grinning at the change of scenery. I was going stir crazy in that stupid attic.
I breathed deeply, relishing the smell of wood and cars. Shaking my head, I focused, concentrating on the pack house. I smirked as I glanced at the mahogany walls and the black marble floor. The musty smell of wolf filled the air and I walked towards the office, hoping he was in a good mood.
Jace POV
"Where could she have gone? How could you just let her go? She was right in front of you!" I yelled for what must have been the tenth time in the past hour, fuming at the guilty looking vampires in front of me. None of them answered. I had finished washing the final traces of witch hazel out of my mouth and decided to go join the others in the living room. I had known the instant I saw the open window. The idiots had been so busy arguing over monopoly that they hadn't even noticed she was gone!
I stormed over to the window again, rubbing my hand along the sill. I lifted my hand and stared at the tiny yellow particles resting there. Sulfer. She had flown, making it impossible to track her. I growled and started pacing, muttering to myself as I mentally went through of all the places she could have gone. There was the mountains, but she only went there when she was upset, the witches' coven, but she had no reason to go there, the forest, if she just went for a flight, or even the lake if she felt like swimming. It could take hours to find her and we didn't even know where to look. I know I was being over protective, but something always happened when Phoenix was left alone for too long. A bad something. I stared out the window again, hoping I was braced for whatever she had done.

Hi everyone! I know it's short, but I wanted to write something rather than make you all wait for me to write a long chapter that would take an even longer time. I'll try to update soon but no promises.
