Phoenix's POV
Groaning quietly as I slowly started to wake up, I tried to remember what happened. Suddenly, it all came back to me. I had been kidnapped by vampires. Oh well. Not like anyone will really care. They will probably be having a party back at home, celebrating the disappearance of the dreaded Phoenix Night. Slowly I opened my eyes, only to realize that I was in a large car with 3 rows of seats, with me in the back row. The sun was setting and the sky was a mixture of crimson, fiery orange and pale purple. It reminded me painfully of home for some reason and I quickly shoved that thought from my mind. They hated me there so I wouldn't dwell on it. I looked around the car.
There were 4 vampires and none of them had noticed I was awake yet. The driver had sandy blond hair and green eyes. The vampire next to him had brown hair and dark blue eyes. The vampire sitting behind the driver was a ginger with hazel eyes and I grinned. This would be fun, I thought to myself. I loved to torture gingers about their hair, I don't know why though. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I also have red hair, but mine looks like blood while their looks like a mashed up carrot. Finally, I looked at the last vampire. He had black hair with blood red tips on the end. When he turned to look up at something the driver had said, I noticed his eyes. They were a slate grey but shone like silver.
They still hadn't noticed I was awake yet so I carefully sat up, testing the ropes that held me. They were strong ropes but I could burn through them easily. I slowly started to light them, making sure the fire was not even there. The rope had begun to smolder when the vampire that was a ginger looked at me. His eyes widened fractionally and I knew why. When I used my power, my eyes turned the same shade as my hair; crimson red.
"Hey guys, she's awake." Ginger said without taking his eyes off of me. I returned the stare as I continued to burn away the rope.
"So, girly, what's your name?" The blond in the front asked.
I didn't answer, just kept staring at them. After a couple seconds I lowered my eyes and answered in a mutter, "Phoenix."
"So Phoenix, what exactly is your status with your coven? Hmmm?"
I didn't answer as I thought of what they'd say when they found out. They would probably just kidnap someone else and use them for what ever they needed a hostage for, and as much as I hated the coven, they were all I had and I wasn't ready to lose them too. I wouldn't be responsible for the deaths of anyone else. Shaking my head to banish these thoughts from my mind I gave myself a moments satisfaction when the final strands of the rope parted, leaving my hands and feet free but it still looked as if I was bound.
"No answer for us Phoenix? Oh well. We could always just call and ask you know. Though it would save us a lot of trouble if you just told us."
When it became obvious to them that I wasn't going to answer, they just muttered to themselves again, in tones to low for me to hear and I gazed out the window, my eyes transfixed on the glowing crescent moon up above. I always loved the moon. It was alone, just like me, with no others like it that were anywhere close. Always forced to follow the Earth, like I was to Andre. I came out of my thought to see a mansion coming up ahead. I rolled my glowing red eyes. Why do all vampires have to live in over sized, overly expensive mansions in the middle of nowhere?
We pulled up to the front door where a butler was standing on the top of the stairs. I stood up and got out of the car with the 4 vampires watching me dumbfounded. I think they expected me to be crying and begging for them to release me and promising I would tell them everything. Yet here I was, walking up the stairs by myself, having burned through my ropes keeping up a stony silence. I shoved open the door and waited while they filed in, watching me curiously. Finally, Blondie cleared his throat, breaking the awkward silence and started to introduce himself. "So ummm hi. My name is Sam. That over there is James, " He said pointing the the ginger, he continued with the names, "That's Tyler and that's Jace." He said pointing to the brunette and then the one with silver eyes and black hair. Tyler gave me a small smile while Jace just continued to stare at me with a calculating expression.
