I sat in front of Sergeant Wick, deciding whether to tell him or not. It didn't seem very believable. The story I had to tell was difficult for me but the KCPD demanded that I divulge the truth to them. The disappearance of Joseph remained a mystery to them but to reveal his true fate would incriminate Kidman. But it was necessary. She had to own up to what she did.

"Detective Castellanos, you need to tell us what happened," Sergeant Wick remained patient. "The disappearance of Detective Oda is an immediate concern and disclosure of information is necessary."

I raised my eyes for a brief moment before returning my gaze to the floor, tears springing forth. I shook my head and stay tight-lipped.

"Castellanos, you are visibly upset and that's understandable," Sergeant Wick continued. "The scene at Beacon Mental Hospital is enough to unsettle somebody. We are aware that something happened to you while you were there. You've been showing signs of instability ever since the investigation. You rarely talk and seem to suddenly grow afraid when not under threat. Castellanos, please. We need to know what happened."

I finally glanced up again and bit my lip. He wouldn't believe me, I decided. After several minutes of fruitless interviewing, he dismissed me with a sigh, his patience nearing its end. It wasn't until a week later when I finally revealed everything from being kidnapped by Mobius to fighting Ruvik. When I finished, I couldn't even look at Sergeant Wick. He didn't say anything for some moments, shuffling his papers nervously.

"Are you insinuating Detective Kidman killed Detective Oda while in this system?" Sergeant Wick tackled the most easiest to believe information first.

"Yes," I said, still not looking at him.

"Well," he continued to process this new information. "We will have to initiate a separate investigation into that and will be interviewing Detective Kidman about this.......incident. Her account of the events differ considerably from yours but both sides will be investigated. In the meantime, you need to come with me, Detective Castellanos."

"Where are we going?" I stood up, glad that he was at least considering my story.

"To Beacon Mental Hospital," Sergeant Wick answered curtly, standing up. "We......have a few questions...... to ask."

Before too long, I was in a patrol car, driving to Beacon Mental Hospital. Sergeant Wick didn't speak a word, his eyes fixated on the road. I gave him a few nervous glances. He was acting peculiar but I couldn't say I blamed him, considering the story I just told him. I looked down and noticed I was wearing the same outfit I had that day I had fallen victim to Ruvik's horrors. Why did I choose to wear this? The car screeched to a halt just outside the gates of Beacon Mental Hospital. Sergeant Wick exited the car and I followed him into the hospital I thought I would never have to visit again. The foyer spilled in front of my eyes as Sergeant Wick pushed the doors open. The blood and bodies had long since been removed but their presence still felt strong.

"Just wait here," Sergeant Wick ordered, directing me to a seat in the foyer.

I watched as he crossed the room to the reception desk. A patient sat next to me and initiated a staring contest with me. I didn't participate and just watched Sergeant Wick talk to the nurse behind the desk, occasionally gesturing to me. I sank in my seat when I saw the nurse walk towards me.

"Good morning, Detective Castellanos," the nurse said, gently and kindly. "I'm going to need you to come with me."

I just nodded and followed her, looking back at the staring patient who had broken out into a grin. I was brought to a small room and handed a bundle of white clothes to put on.
