Joseph's P.O.V.

"Sebastian!!!"I screamed as the car crashed through the trees of the shadowy forest.

Without thinking, I blindly sprinted in pursuit. In moments, my lungs burned and my muscles ached with the exertion of propelling my body through the woods. But I refused to stop despite my body's complaints. I thought of how terrified Sebastian must be as motivation. But after a good five minutes of pursuit and the car no longer in sight, I realised catching up with the car was impossible. The presence of the car explained how Ruvik got here. It was no doubt stolen. I sunk to the forest floor in both exhaustion and despair.

"Sebastian!" I cried out, with shuddering breath.

I had failed. As usual, Sebastian had been successful in removing me from harm's way, sacrificing himself for me and I could not repay him. Time and time again, he had to save himself from danger because of my worthlessness. As Ruvik worked his cruelty on him, I was never there to save him. And now, with Sebastian kidnapped by the unstable criminal, I had failed him once again. Hating myself, I forced myself to my feet. Regardless of my previous failures, I had to at least try and rescue him one more time. Without my knowledge, I had fled my prison. I was out! I admired the night sky and took advantage of the fresh air.

Focus, my mind reminded me.

Remembering the situation at hand, I racked my brain for a plan of rescue. I had no clue as to where Ruvik was taking him and no backup to aid me.

What would Sebastian do? I thought hard. But the answer was right behind me. Turning back and emerging from the forest, I glanced at the building that had been my prison. I had to go back in there. I needed help. Picking up the pace as time was of the essence, I marched confidently through the entrance, seeking out the people. The establishment had been mysteriously deserted as we encountered few guards. Perhaps the presence of Ruvik had initiated an evacuation. Determined, I continued down several hallways, searching for the office of the administrator. Having been confined in a solitary room had not assisted in discovering the layout of the building. I rounded another corner and collided with something. Or someone. I recoiled in horror when I saw it was Juli Kidman. She seemed just as startled but regained her composure, briefly checking our surroundings.

"Joseph!" she spoke in an exasperated but quiet voice. "What are you still doing here? You must be aware Ruvik is on the loose. I thought you would escape amongst the commotion."

"Or lack of commotion," I gestured towards the empty hallway. "I have an emergency on my hands. Kidman, Ruvik has Sebastian."

Kidman's eyes widened in fear and she took a step back.

"Sebastian......" she said, uncertainly. "He's........dead. I already told you that."

"Oh, give it up, Kidman!" I shouted. "He was in Beacon Mental Hospital this whole time and escaped just to save me. I know he's alive! But he won't be if we stand around here any longer."

Kidman sighed, "Of course he did. What do you mean Ruvik has him?"

"He kidnapped him and took off with him in a car," I explained, hastily. "He went into the forest. I don't know where he has taken him but we need to save him now."

"Not without help we won't," Kidman pointed out. "If there is anyone who knows where Ruvik has gone, it's the administrator. He's been studying Ruvik's movements for years before he was confined to STEM. I'll show you where he is. Follow me."

I was reluctant to see the administrator seeing as I had escaped my room but Sebastian's safety was more important. I followed Kidman as she power-walked and then ran through the hallways. Many twists and turns later, we were at the administrator's door. Wordlessly, she opened it to reveal a tall man in a suit, seated behind a polished, wooden desk. His eyes lifted upon our arrival but seemed unfazed.
