"Sebastian............"

Blackness greeted my vision. I could hear a woman's voice calling my name but my eyes refused to open. I was dead. Surely, there was no way I had survived the ordeal. This was the sweet release of death. Moving away from this world and going someplace better.

"Sebastian."

There was that voice again. Who was calling me? In the abyss of death, who was this woman calling me?

"Sebastian!"

The voice sounded more urgent now. I could faintly feel a hand on my shoulder, shaking me. I moaned and shook the hand off. But that voice sounded so familiar despite how distant it was. With great difficulty, I forced my eyes open. Bright blinding light flooded my vision immediately, almost compelling me to shut my eyes again. The bright light. Yes, I was definitely dead. The blurred features of a woman swarmed into view. I blinked the poor resolution away until her features grew more clear. Concern lined her beautiful face and I could faintly feel her hand stroking my hair. Those intense eyes brimming with tears were so familiar. I reached my hand which felt like it was made of lead and brushed the hair that had fallen into her eyes. I knew her. Myra. I knew for sure now. She was leaned over me, the tears falling more consistently now. I wanted to throw myself into her arms but I had a final mission. Fighting the fatigue and weakness, I struggled to sit up and desperately pulled out the wires and cables connecting me to this machine of death.

"Sebastian!" Myra cried. "It's okay! You're alive!"

I rose out of the milky white substance and half jumped, half fell out of the tub. Stumbling over to the core of the machine, I eyed the brain of my deceased enemy in its protective glass casing. With uncontrollable anger, I grabbed the case and threw it to the ground. The glass smashed and scattered itself across the floor. The revolting brain lay unprotected and with a growl, I stamped on it. I continued to destroy the brain as the rage began to fade and the tears started to fall. Hands grabbed me from behind and dragged me away from the remains of Ruvik's brain. I screamed and sobbed in desperation as I was pulled into an embrace. I struggled against their grip, pleading to be let go.

"Sebastian, it's okay!" Myra cried, trying to soothe me. "Baby, you're safe!"

At the sound of her voice, I ceased fighting and allowed her to comfort me. Burying my face in her shoulder, I sat on the floor with her, crying my heart out. Myra rocked me gently, her hand resuming stroking my hair. She9 made soothing noises until I ran out of tears, staring into the distance.

"Sebastian!"

I finally looked up from Myra's shoulder and almost cried with relief when I saw Joseph stumbling over to me. Myra gently released me and transferred me to Joseph's arms instead. I hugged him tightly, almost afraid Mobius or Ruvik would take him away from me again.

"Are you okay?" Joseph asked, immediately searching me for wounds.

"Yeah........" I managed to answer. "I think so."

"Is Ruvik dead?" Joseph asked.

I struggled to answer. Had I killed him?

"Yes," a man I did not recognise said. "His power and spirit are no more."

I breathed a sigh of relief. I had done the unthinkable and impossible. I had finally defeated my enemy but not without help.

"Joseph, thank you for rescuing me," I said to Joseph.

"I still failed to protect you," Joseph said, regretfully.

"No," I shook my head. "You didn't. If it weren't for you going into that system, I would have been dead. You're a hero."
