You stood in front of your garden in Alexandria, waiting for Daryl to show up. You tried to be patient, remembering that he said he might be late. You sighed and looked over at your flowers. You glanced around the yard before you turned to your flowers. You decided to examine your favorite flower, it was the first one that you planted. The first one that bloomed and you loved it. You became extremely distracted as you looked at the flower. Soon you heard a branch break behind you and you whipped around to see who it was.
Daryl stood there. You quickly ran to him, jumping into his arms. He chuckled quietly and hugged you back. " You're late" you whispered as you pulled away. Daryl nodded before he answered, "I know. The supply run went a little longer than expected."
There was a pause before he spoke again, "I'm sorry." Surprise hit you like train, why was he apologizing? "For what?" you asked, looking at him in confusion. " For being late, on our anniversary."
There was a moment of silence before you realized he was right! You hurried to assure him that it was alright, but before you could finish Daryl reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small stuffed bear.

You smiled widely and gently took it from his hands. As you held it close Daryl's smile grew as well. Slowly you looked up at Daryl, his smile mirrored your own. He took your hand in his and you stood there for a moment, enjoying each other's company. "Let's go inside." You suggested. Daryl nodded and you both rushed inside. You spent the rest of the night with each other, sharing stories and reminiscing about the old times.
