Alex's POV
I woke up with the dull, white glow of Alice's Christmas lights on and Alice laying in my lap. This was a pretty soothing scene if I didn't have to pee ever so terribly.
I wiggled my way out of the bed carefully, so I didn't wake Alice up. I checked my phone. 11:43 pm.
My sleep schedule is so fucked up. I walk into the cold, hardwood floored hallway. The walls were nice, they were a calming shade of red.
The bathrooms nice too, it's a shade of yellow and its beach themed. I turn on my phone. Today's February 13th, Valentine's Day is tomorrow. Fuck I forgot. I should do something for Alice tomorrow. Or, 15 minutes from now.
I turn off the bathroom lights and go into the bedroom, opening the box of clothing I own. I take out a black My Chemical Romance shirt with a white and red hourglass on it and a pair of gray skinny jeans. After getting dressed I put on new eyeliner and a black beanie.
"Alice." I whisper near her face.
I see her brown, chocolatey eyes pop open.
"JESUS FUCK ALEX."
I laugh loudly. "Good morning, sleepy head."
She sits up and yawns, stretching her arms up.
"What time is it? And why are you all dressed?"
"Well, it's Valentine's Day now, and I thought I'd take you for a walk and take you to a restaurant.. Maybe?"
I mumble, afraid of rejection still.
"That sounds perfect." Her lips curl into a smile.
"Just give me a second to get dressed."
She stands up and grabs a yellow tank top, white skinny jeans, and a white and black stripped hoodie. That I'm pretty sure was mine.
She brushed her hair after getting dressed and put on her makeup.
"Ready to go?"
She nodded and grab held of my hand as we walked outside.
Nighttime was always so peaceful to me, not a lot of people were out. Perhaps it could get a little dangerous, but I'm sure we'll be fine.
I held my arm around her waist as we walked. She smelled like the beach. She looked so bread, too.
"Whatcha thinking about?"
"Just that I'm lucky to have a girlfriend as bread as you."
She smiled and walked me to the local playground.
We sat on the slide and looked at the stars, it was a pretty clear night. It was cold, yes, but it was nice.
"Can you promise me something?" She looked at me.
"Anything, yeah."
"Don't keep anything from me. Lies tear apart relationships."
"I-I promise I won't." I smiled weakly and put my hand on her leg.
"So it's nice out. Yeah.."
"It's nice for February."
"I wanted to give you this." I handed Alice a small, black box with a white bow around it.
She smiled and opened the box, a silver, sea shell necklace.
"Alex.. It's wonderful." She smiled up at me and put it around her neck.
"Do you want to go to Wendy's or something? I'm starving." I suggest.
"Yeah, me too. Let's go." She drags me down the orange, cold, plastic slide and down the street more.
I led her into the Wendy's that was open until 2am. Very romantic, isn't it?
"May I help you two?" A woman in her mid 20s and bags around her eyes asked us.
"Two large fries and one large chocolate frosty." Alice answered her.
It only took a moment for our food to be ready.
We sat near the window with our food.
"I'm really glad I met you. Happy Valentine's Day, Alex."
My ghostly pale hand interlocked with hers.
"I'm glad I met you too. Happy Valentine's Day."
