I awoke to a harsh jabbing feeling in my shoulder and a bad feeling in my neck."Sir-" I could hear a squeaky teenage voice trying to speak to me.
"-please exit the movies."
I opened my eyes, and the bright lights hung all around the dark walled room blurred my vision.
"Oh!"
I could now remember what happened. I fell asleep at the movies.
"Yeah, sorry."
I must have apologized like 69 times. I turned to my right. No Alice. Plus a missing hoodie. I felt really uncomfortable with my arms exposed.
I hid my arms behind my back and rushed outside. It was dark. I checked my phone, 9:06 pm. Wow.
'Alice? Where'd you go?' I texted her.
Almost immediately I got a text from her.
'Sorry. I couldn't get you awake. <3'
I sighed, "Great."
Good thing I didn't live TOO far from the movie theater. I live near everything, remember?
"Alex! Where the hell have you been?"
I heard the deep voice of my father when I opened the door. The smell of whiskey hit my face, he's been drinking.
"I went to the movies with Alice, then we stuck around at the mall for a while."
Lying came natural to me, sadly.
Well obviously.
"Don't be home late again!"
The foul smell traveled like fire up my nostrils.
"Okay?" I croaked and went upstairs.
'Open your window.'
I pressed the blue send button on my phone.
Immediately it opened. So I opened mine.
"Hey. Here's your jacket!" Alice's red nailed, porcelain skin hand held my blood jacket and handed it to my ghostly pale, black nailed hand.
"Thanks." I smiled and zipped my hoodie up.
"So the movie ended well, everyone died."
She shrugged her exposed shoulders that her white tank top didn't cover.
"I think I'm gonna go get some Mac and cheese from downstairs."
I swing the off-shaded egg white door open and hop down the stairs.
"Who are you talking to?"
My sister, Jessica, asked me.
"Just my girlfriend." I say as I search through the cabinets for Mac and cheese.
"You? You have a girlfriend!? I'm telling dad!" Jessica rushes up from her spot at the table and runs into the living room. Well fuck, this isn't gonna end well.
