When I left Jay's room I did my happy dance. Finally! Something exciting was going on! Well for Jay and I. Ronnie was having the time of her life. I'd never seen anyone so dedicated to training...well besides Marvy. When I'd first come in, I was told I had to wait for the rest of my team. So I became a complete potatoe. I had junk food and soda constantly in front of the TV. When Isla was finally brought in, the only one even close to prepared was Marv. That weirdo! He did nothing but swim in the pool for the week we had left.
So yeah. He was fit and ready to be challenged. Whereas Jay and I...well. You get the idea. Isla was the only one decent to be his sparring partner for a while. Then they were even. It was amazing to watch them. She was like a cat; smooth but fast. Marv...was Marv. I thought about all this as I headed to my office to complete some paperwork.
When I sat in my desk I looked at the mess of white on top. I rested my cheek in my hand and just stared. I really didn't feel like doing anything. I groaned as the phone rang and answered it. "Jin of section 1."
"JIN! It's be so long. I remember when I brought you in!" I almost fell out of my seat as I recognized Boss. "S-sir! How may I be of service?!" "Oh calm down kid. I just wanted to ask about this replacement you think you've found. Do you really think she could do as well as Isla?" I sighed and moved my head in a circle to pop my neck. "Yes sir. She has that same...spark." Boss was silent a moment before speaking again. "I'm going to decide that myself. See you in 12 hours Jin. Prepare your team."
Spluttering as he hung up, I fell out of my seat. Boss was coming to evaluate Ronnie! I jumped up and sprinted down the hall and to Jay's room. I opened the door but he wasn't in there. I rushed myself to the gym and saw that Jay was looking at Ronnie's ankle while Marv stretched. They all looked up at my overwhelmed form as I caught my breath. "Boss...Boss is coming."
