Harry decided that maybe he should drive, so here we are. I'm in the passenger seat of my car, while Harry has his hands gripped on the steering wheel. "Are you going to answer my question?" he asked me quietly. I really didn't want to go all into detail.
"I left a necklace at my- the house. It was my little sister's. It's really important that I get it back before Mack gets it. He knows how important it is to me, so if he finds it, he'll use that against me if he's in an angry mood," I said, keeping my face hidden from his view.
"Why is it so important?" he asked after a minute of silence. I tried not to cringe at his question. I know he's just curious, but it's already starting to bring back the old memories. "...It's the only thing I have left of her," I whispered, but I'm pretty sure he heard me.
"I'm sorry. I didn't-" "-It's fine," I said cutting him off. The rest of the drive was pretty quiet besides me telling him where to turn every now and then. When we got to the house, I didn't see Mack's car anywhere. He must be out partying or something, but either way, we have to hurry.
"I might as well grab the rest of my things too. He's not here right now and I'd really rather I don't have to come back later to get my stuff when he is. Do you mind helping me?" I asked Harry. I looked back at him and he nodded his head.
We quickly climbed out of the car and up the driveway to the front porch. I pulled the keys out of my jeans' pocket and unlocked the door. When we got in, I walked into the bedroom with Harry following me. I barely met him and he's already doing me favors.
I walked to the closet and pulled out two empty suit cases, laying them on the bed. "Can you grab anything in those two dressers and just put them in the suit cases?" I asked pointing to the two separate dressers. "Oh. Just don't open the top droors," I said remembering about my undergarments and such.
He nodded and started to open the droors and pull out my clothes. Okay... Now where did I leave the necklace...? "I'll be back," I said rushing out of the bedroom. I ran into the living room and started to look in between the couch cushions. Nothing. I checked in the kitchen. Nothing. Bathroom. Nothing. I really wish I knew where that necklace was...
I walked back into the bedroom to help Harry. After we finished emptying the dressers, I had him look under the bed for my necklace while I quickly stuffed my undergarments into the suitcases and zipped them up. "I don't see it under there," he said standing back up again.
"Ugh!" I sighed in frustration, running my fingers through my long, brown hair. "Are you done putting your close away?" he asked me. "Yeah. Let's just take these to the car and then-" I stopped talking when I heard the front door slam shut.
I looked at Harry with wide eyes. He looked worried too. I jumped when I heard a loud crash. It kind of sounded like something being shattered. The next thing I know, the door to the bedroom is being swung open. Mack looked shocked. "Baby, I'm so-" "Stop, Mack," I said holding my hand out to stop him.
He's drunk. I could smell it from across the room. Mack seemed to take in Harry's existance and he didn't seem all to happy that he was here. "Who the fuck is this?" Mack asked waving his hand towards Harry with a disgusted look on his face.
"None of your business, Mack," I snapped, remembering all the pain he caused me, anger filling its place. "It sure as hell is my damn business if he's in my house. And don't you fucking speak to me that way, you stupid bitch," he said, slurring his words and taking a step towards me.
Harry went around the end of the bed and stood in between me and Mack. "Get the fuck out of my bloody way!" Mack shouted in Harry's face. "You know, you should consider taking a breath mint or something. Your breath reeks, Dude!" Harry said leaning back slightly and waving his hand around his face to get the bad air away from himself. I grabbed the back of Harry's shirt, fisting it in my tiny hands as he started to chuckle, egging Mack on.
